Hatoya Shibuya — Restaurant in Tokyo

i’ve been here 4 times during my trip, and i’m always met with the loveliest staff!!! the matcha quality & standard is also a 10/10, they’re extremely generous with the matcha here so you don’t have to worry about milky lattes or light tasting matchas.

the matcha isnt vegetal at all, which i love, and it also isnt astringent. i usually tell them to add a teeny bit of sugar as i prefer my matchas to not be overly sweet (and especially if you’re adding toppings theres already some sweetness added to that!)

on my last visit, i added a half baked matcha which is basically a brownie and its so buss!!!!! would totally recommend that as an add on :)

We visited Hatoya’s new shop in Shibuya almost every day during our 10-day stay in Tokyo that’s how much we loved it! The roasted matcha is absolutely exceptional, with a deep, smooth flavour unlike anything we’ve tasted. hatoya matcha in shibuya, i was lucky enough to stumble upon them on their second day opening!!! amazing matcha experience, i got iced matcha latte (no sugar added) and it was 10/10 seriously not bitter at all and very smooth!!
