I visited Injoy, a cozy vegan eatery tucked away in Asakusa. It’s not the easiest place to locate, but once you arrive, you’ll find a quaint setup with just 4-5 tables, making it feel quite intimate. The menu is limited, but the food speaks volumes for itself.
I tried the Dandan Ramen and the Hot Stone Bibimbap, and both dishes were absolutely delightful. The ramen had a rich, flavorful broth with the perfect balance of spices, while the bibimbap was served sizzling hot, packed with vibrant veggies and a delicious sauce. The presentation was impressive, as they serve the food in large vessels, giving the illusion of generous portions. However, the actual quantity was much smaller than expected, which felt disproportionate to the prices.
While the food was undeniably delicious, the pricing is definitely on the higher side, especially given the portion sizes. On the brighter side, the service was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall experience.
If you’re a fan of vegan cuisine and don’t mind the premium pricing, Injoy is worth a visit for its flavorful dishes and cozy ambiance. However, if portion size matters to you, this might not be the most...
Read moreIf you’re in the Asakusa area and are looking for vegan/vegetarian friendly food, this is a good place to head to along Sumida Park. We had the dandan ramen and bibimbap sets. The staff asked us to wait for 30 mins. There were tables ready, infact they even added 2 tables while we were waiting but didn’t call us to sit first whereas a group of 3 just like us that entered after us was seated immediately. Further, the table seated after us was given a menu before us and we waited endlessly for someone to give us a menu and serve water. Had to call someone to eventually get the menu.
Fortunately the food was delicious and compensated for the disappointment of service. The ramen soup was the best I’ve had in Japan (vegetarian) so far. The set comes with tea which again no one gave us and we had forgotten. In the end reminded them to serve it. Had the service been better, I’d...
Read moreSince all other vegan friendly places nearby were closed in new year's eve, and because of all the good reviews I went there for a lunch. I knew it was "fine dining" at dinner but thought it had à la carte dishes for lunch as I saw in some reviews. There were none. There were only Extremely expensive set dishes.
So I took the dandan noodles one, since I really love dandan, and although it was okay it in no way nearly justified 3200 yen. The appetizer was some tiny artsy-non-food, the tea was very basic, the dessert was also basic and miniature, so I felt like I paid this much just for a ramen that tasted no better than other ramens around the city that cost half or less. Yes, it is a fully vegan restaurant which I appreciate and the atmosphere is very high-end, but overall it unfortunately gave me a...
