Rose Bakery Marunouchi — Restaurant in Tokyo

It’s inside of a clothing shop, so compared to nearby places, the view isn’t great. Another branch of Rose Bakery used to have amazing GF cakes, and this place has a couple reviews mentioning GF items, but the staff said they were “sold out” of GF everything even though it was early & there were many cakes & sweets out on the counter. Went there for a work lunch. Was satisfied with the open sandwich but wouldn’t mind if there were more proteins to this dish. The bakery was awesome, the mushroom and poached egg was standard - overall making this sandwich a bit pricy (JPY1850 from memory?) by lunch standard in Marunouchi for what it brought. I went there for a second time the next week with a different colleague and was struggling to find another item on the menu that was suitable/big enough lunch - maybe more of a cafe for a quick bite...

Lovely, airy in-shop cafe on the Marunouchi shopping street. The oat milk latte was soft and creamy, yet full of flavor. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The carrot cake, so copiously described by other local guides, lives up to its reputation as one of the best in Tokyo. Will have to try the quiche when I visit next!

If coming during winter, recommend a seat away from the open front door. My table was quite chilly, although not unbearable. Looking forward to visiting throughout the seasons. A lovely...
