The international breakfast buffet at the Grand Prince Hotel Shin Takanawa offers a diverse selection of dishes, but there are a few things to keep in mind. First, the location of the buffet is somewhat inconvenient, as it's situated quite a distance from the room lift lobby. This means guests may need to walk a bit farther than expected to reach the dining area, which could be a drawback, especially for those in a hurry.
Once you arrive, however, the atmosphere of the buffet is impressive. The dining area has a modern and stylish design that creates a pleasant and welcoming environment. The buffet itself is extensive, featuring a wide variety of options to suit different tastes. In addition to standard international fare, there are also several local Japanese dishes on offer, such as udon and ochazuke, which provide a taste of traditional cuisine. For those looking to start their day with something unique, the inclusion of warm sake is a nice touch that sets this buffet apart from others.
As for the food quality, it is generally good across the board. The dishes are well-prepared and flavorful, making the dining experience enjoyable. Whether you're in the mood for Western-style breakfast items or something more local, the buffet is likely to satisfy most palates.
Overall, while the distance from the lift lobby to the buffet may be a minor inconvenience, the modern atmosphere, extensive food selection, and solid quality make the international breakfast buffet at the Grand Prince Hotel Shin Takanawa a...
Read moreThis buffet restaurant is located next to the slope hence the name and it's located inside Grand Prince Hotel Shinagawa. Overall the food served here are actually delicious especially their Teppanyaki Scallops, lamb and Foie Gras. Presentation of certain dishes are good too and you can actually order whatever amount you want for the teppanyaki and sushi. You just need to let the chef know what you want and how many pieces. Another special mention is their Strawberry Curry as its the 1st time I ate such a unique curry and it's actually not bad. The star of the show in this restaurant is most definitely their roast beef as its really tender and delicious. The desserts served here are also not bad but the Ice Cream here is Fantastic and is of good quality. However, the frozen fruit that you see in the freezer together with the ice cream are not served to you. Additionally, you can also order freshly made Mont Blanc here and they will make it in front of you. The chestnut flavour of the Mont Blanc is actually quite strong hence you will like it if you like chestnut. Lastly, for those who wants to save some money you can actually just join the Seibu Prince Hotel membership and get a discount on your meal there and then. Do take note that you will need to hike a liitle if you are walking to the restaurant from Shinagawa Station as its located on top of a slope by...
Read moreI'm a foodie and have been lucky enough to having been living in Tokyo since forever! Tokyo has the most Michelin Star restaurants compared to any other city on earth. I've eaten in so many places in Tokyo, but as far as buffet style dining goes, this is it! I cannot recommend it enough. The food is out of this world, the service excellent and the ambience first class. Given the weak yen, your dining experience (not including alcoholic drinks) will come to around 60 quid or 80 US dollars per person, which makes it an unimaginable bargain for a major city in the world. And the massive bonus point is that in the dinner buffet there is NO time limit. So, you can technically arrive on the weekend at 5:00 p.m. and stay with the last order being 9:00 p.m. This is unheard of as most restaurants in Tokyo. All of the others I have ever been to have a 90-minute time limit. My wife and I stayed for over 3-hours slowly noshing through small amounts of pretty much everything they had! Neither of us drink alcohol so we made do with the tap water, but limitless tea and coffee was available. It is not necessarily the biggest buffet options you can find, but what they have on offer is unassailable. Do yourself a culinary favour and go. You will not regret it. You can peruse the menu in Japanese and English on...
