Absolutely amazing bar with tons of tequilas and spirits to choose from!

There is no menu but the drinks are made to perfection👌✨Bar owner is very aware and attentive to all of his customer’s needs. If you go into the bathroom, the walls are plastered with local and international awards of the bartender for his mixology craft.

We were a group of three: one who knows a bit about cocktails, one who has no clue, and one who doesn’t drink at all (me). There were surprisingly great options for everyone.

Even if you don’t drink like me, he serves the most amazing virgin cocktails!! Of course, usually when I go to bars my expectations are very low as a non-drinker. At best I get freshly squeezed juice, mixed juice, or tea, which is completely fine. I’m there to have a good time with friends. But this place blew my mind!!! Literally the best virgin drinks I’ve ever had in my life! The drink flavors were complex and entertaining comparable to an actual alcoholic cocktail! If anything, my fellow drinker friends liked my drink more and would take frequent sips out of it.

One of them came in a big wine glass with smoke trapped on top of the liquid. The waitress opened my drink at the table and it was this aromatic rosemary smoke sitting on top of a fresh apple juice and ginger mix of some sort. We tried to figure what’s in it but couldn’t, and I asked what the name of this drink was. They said it had no name and if I wanted to order again, just ask for the apple juice with rosemary smoke on top. The flavors were so complex and beautifully put together, i thoroughly enjoyed every sip till the end!

This was truly a once in a lifetime experience. If you are looking for artisan cocktails that can't be replicated anywhere else, this is the place for you. I will compare every drink to the ones served here. Remarkable. Stupendous. Superb. Extraordinary. If you do not come here, you're making a mistake. If there's one review I can leave that makes a difference, that positively affects a wonderful and deserving business, I hope this is the review.

SECOND REVIEW: We went a second time because that's how much we loved our first visit Koji, Ono, and the Sunface Bar. It was even better than the first time. On our second visit, it was apparent that folks have no idea how special an experience this is. This isn't just any mixologist making cocktails. This is surgical precision. This is high art.

This isn't a bar where you should be on your phone. If you stare at your screen, you'll miss the magic happening behind the bar. Sure, you can order a neat whiskey (and it'll be the best neat whiskey), but you're missing out on something phenomenal. I've never seen anyone take such care with ingredients, with method, with creation. Ask Koji for a whiskey coke, and he'll make his own coca-cola from scratch. And to top it all off, they are so kind and gracious. Koji and Ono were very patient with our English. They treat their customers with as much care as they do their drinks. I can't give enough compliments.

If you love mixed drinks, you'll wish you came here sooner. If you aren't a mixed drink person, this place will change you. I usually don't get cocktails, but now when I have a drink, I'll always wish I was in Shinjuku drinking a work of art from...

TLDR: We went to the best cocktail bars we could find in Tokyo and Kyoto over nearly two weeks, and while we visited many amazing cocktail bars, this was number one. Definitely go to this bar.

My partner and I spent almost two weeks traveling Tokyo and Kyoto where we made it a point to try the best cocktail bars we could find (based on guides, and local recommendations). There is no shortage of great cocktail bars with highly creative mixologists in Japan. What made Spirits Bar so special was that it hit all three of what one would look for at a cocktail bar: Delicious/creative drinks, wonderful/intimate service, and unique presentation. Koji is a master of his craft and makes cocktails based off of the customers tastes/interests (no menu). Koji was extremely kind in conversing with us, spoke very good english and had multiple unique variants on staple cocktails using Japanese ingredients (though his specialty is tequila/mezal). The bar is small with perhaps 8-10 bar seats and a few small tables, which means two things: you should plan to come at opening and that the service is quick and intimate. I cannot recommend this cocktail bar enough, and would highly recommend any locals or tourists to come here.
