Lunch review - I went here on a Friday because I wanted a light meal in the neighborhood (Kyobashi) and because its head chef is a disciple of Sushi Sho.
It’s a small and cozy space with a counter capacity of 10. The lunch consists of 9 courses including soup - the food comes out fast and the head chef makes all the nigiri sushi in front of you. It’s a quick meal and you can be in and out in 30 minutes, but I stayed for about 45 minutes (there was a middle aged Japanese couple who were the last to come in at 1p and left before 1:30p).
I was the only foreigner there for lunch - everyone else appeared to be a regular based on how they were conversing with the head chef.
I think this was fine for lunch, especially since I had other places to visit. The only possible drawback for some is the Uni nigiri - the sea urchin is slightly fermented and topped with salt.
The price for lunch (Omakase set meal is the only thing available) during my visit was 1,650 yen and very reasonable.
Not easy to find since it’s on a side street.
PS: Another reviewer posted incorrect info of the lunch price being 950 yen — that’s for a different sushi restaurant called Esshu which used to be in Kyobashi, but...

I walked in right at 11:30 for lunch and no menu was provided. (This was true for the Japanese customers as well.) I get the impression that it's an Omakase-only type of establishment.
What preceded to occur was an unbelievable dining experience. There were about 10 pieces of sashimi, one veggie roll, and a soup served in about 30 minutes. I have no idea what type of fish was actually served honestly.
The most amazing thing was that lunch was only 1,600 yen. Easily the best value...
Read moreYup, we were refused entry at 7 pm, even though Google said the restaurant was open till 10 pm. The "chef" said the restaurant was closed.
I thought he was honest because the restaurant was empty (now I wonder why), but after we left and had good sake and food a couple of doors down the street at a crowded place, when we walked past すし処目羅, the "chef" was serving a single customer at the counter.
It may depend on whoʻs working whether youʻll be served or not, but I wouldnʻt go...
