Our lunch today was deeply frustrating and unpleasant, especially when dining with a young child of only 5 years of age who still depends on timely meals.
Poor Service and Miscommunication โข Being ignored and given menu only after 10 minutes despite signaling for attention. โข Waiter repeatedly questioning if I want to proceed with 2 cooked food orders as it will take 15mins. Affirming him to go ahead and I am okay with the preparation time was frustrating as it went on for about 3-4 times of repeating and in itself was 10 mins wasted. โข 15mins later a small 3cm grilled scallop came and that was priced above JPY1000. โข We waited another 10mins and asked about the second item chawanmushi and was shocked that order was not taken. โข I am upset but did not expressed it, giving the waiter the benefits of the doubt that our language difference had created the mistake on the food order.
Outside Food: โข By now, the time is around 2:30 pm and my 5 year old child only had no lunch at all. We decided to emergency feed my child with a donut we had in the bag. โข Waitress then came to stopped me from feeding my child the outside bought donut. โข We explained that given the situation โ my child being left hungry due to their mistake โ I would like them to give exception. โข Waitress insisted and created a din. She reported this to the older sushi chef. I then typed my situation to Google Translate app and had that translated to Japanese to explained to the sushi chef. He too, to my shock, insisted on the same and showing a lack of empathy and reason. โข A more customer-focused establishment would have understood and accommodated this.
Hygiene Concerns: โข During the whole time of my dining, the waitresses and waiters stacked dirty plates and customersโ soiled towels next to me (less than a cm away). This is both unsanitary and unprofessional.
Quality of Food: โข Uni that is greying and dry sushi added to our poor experience.
Lack of Accountability: โข While waiving the charge for lone scallop was a small gesture, it doesnโt address the broader failures in service, empathy, and quality. โข I did not request for any waiver off food charges. โข My request was for the restaurant to allow my child to eat a donut given it is already 2:30 pm and she had no lunch yet. We also made sure we left no outside food waste behind.
Because my frustration is entirely valid, and the restaurant handled the situation without reason. I felt compelled to write this review for other...

The staff including the sushii-masters were very kind and professionals in their fields. The atmosphere is what you would expect from a good sushii restaurant: exciting yet calm, foreigny yet homey, extremely eye catching and pleasing, especially while watching the masters preparing your food.
I ordered a mixed sushii plate and a serving of medium fat tuna belly shashimi. Every sushii I tried was really delicious and fresh. I personally liked the Egg sushi a lot, as I never had tried it before.
The highlight was the sashimi. My mouth is watering as I am writing this. It was phenomenal, an unforgettable experience, pure bliss. I had never tried something like this before and it changed me completely. I wonder how the whole fat tuna tastes like.
YOU HAVE TO TRY THE SASHIMI, savour it, take your time
Thank you Sushimaru for letting me experience something...
ย ย ย Read moreI was searching for a sushi place and many in the area kept turning me down due to max capacity. Eventually, I found this place. The sushi was alright, but it was also very quick and efficient! I had the fatty tuna, normal tuna and egg sushi. What really made me like the place was the fact their was a customer bound to a wheel chair and was highly on the spectrum of autism. Every few minutes the customer would loudly shout and make noise, and the staff treated them like any other customer. They didn't kick out the family who the customer was with, and they seemed so relieved because of that. I have seen many places in Japan kick out customers who have a member be too loud due to autism or Tourette's. It was really nice to see someone treat another with...
