An excellent experience with Prathibha and Tomoko. Extremely knowledgable and well versed in tea history and culture from around the world.
Had a wonderful few hours discussing the different types of tea and tea pots and experiencing artisanal craftsmanship.
Store design was nicely done and there were plenty of tea selections hailing from all over the world to experience. Prathibha was extremely knowledgeable with aromatics of the tea and expressing their feel and sense and understanding the differences.
If visiting Kapppabashi and you would like to look into higher end teas and vessels, this will be higher end and competitive with this market.
Quality, but as should be expected, this investment for a step up will not come cheap. Budget for any expenses as it isn’t about price here, but quality and higher end experiences. This value will cost.

Got a hojicha (didn't have the option to try before buying, unlike in some other shops, though we asked) and the sample smelled much better than the actual product (which is sealed at the time of purchase). Staff is friendly and very knowledgeable, and offers you a drink for taste.
They sell various quality japanese teas (matcha, sencha ...) but also various variety from China, Taiwan. By the way the jasmine pearl is a must to take with you.
Recommend if you are looking some good tea to bring back from japan.
