We vacationed in Japan for the first time ever this summer and spent 16 days there traveling around. We discovered this restaurant in Tokyo on our second day of the trip and tried their Wagyu beef at the street store location. The steak was perfectly prepared and the meat literally melted in our mouths. During that initial visit at night, the staff was kind and friendly and showed my family the marbling in the beef and explained why they never freeze their meat and why that distinction makes such a difference. We were so blown away, that we made it a point to go there again before leaving town to visit Kyoto and Osaka and Hiroshima. The meal was just as scrumptious. Finally, on our last day in Japan, after returning to Tokyo, we got to the airport early to check our bags before hopping into a taxi just to go back to this restaurant for the third time as our last meal before flying back to the United States. We met one of the chefs, Miki, on the last visit she took some time to talk more with us about the pride, talent, and passion that goes into their food prep. It was quite amazing. This was my favorite meal (on three different occasions) from our entire odyssey throughout Japan. I could not endorse or recommend this place more; I give...
Read moreVery bad experience. First of all, the dishes are obviously much more expensive than similar restaurants. The sukiyaki pot has no sweetness at all and the meat is fatty. The seafood platter is not fresh. The crab legs are too dry and may not be fresh. There is almost no service, and the dishes are thrown away and walked away. Need to be reminded to collect the dishes. At the end, they charged a 5% service charge when paying. When I questioned the service charge, they took out the menu and it showed that there was a service charge, but there was only a line of very small print in English, no Japanese or other languages. This was a very bad experience in Japan, not recommended at all. I seriously doubt that the good reviews of this store are paid for.
At this moment, my child and I took turns to go to the toilet in the hotel because of severe diarrhea. We just dined in this restaurant, no more than two hours ago. We did not eat anything after that. So we seriously doubt the hygiene of this restaurant. This is our last night in Tokyo and we will leave tomorrow morning. So we will not ask the restaurant for compensation. But we must remind anyone who comes later not to eat in this restaurant! What a...
Read moreA spacious and new restaurant right in the middle of Tsukiji Fish Market! I came in the summer and it was a nice break from the heat and crowds outside. They've got tables in the front and more private tatami dining rooms in the back, where we ate.
I ordered the unagi and half-pound A5 Wagyu plate. The unagi was delicious and fresh, and seasoned just right. The streak was perfectly cooked and was so tender it practically melted in the mouth.
I often come to Tsukiji for work and have tried a lot of restaurants in the area, and this is definitely one of...
