I came because of the glowing reviews saying that they are friendly to foreigners and the food and experience were perfect. I'm not sure what happened but that wasn't true when we went. The server barely spoke a word to us, just held up 2 fingers and said "two?". We ordered in Japanese and I guess he assumed we were speaking English (?) and gave us BIRU when we asked for MIZU.
The green tea shuhai I ordered tasted like water, and the glass is very thin, so it's not worth the money.
After paying 12,000¥ for the luxury set, he let our dirty tray burn all our expensive meat to black charcoal with the flames a foot high, where I was burning myself trying to reach in and save the meat. There was nobody else in the restaurant, and he was just sitting in the corner. After seeing that our meat turned into charcoal, he didn't apologize or say anything.
I feel full of regret that I overpaid for a small amount of meat and watered down drinks. I thought for this price, it would come with a side dish or at least rice. If you are expecting a Korean style yakiniku service,...
Read moreWhat a fantastic restaurant I discovered. It was my first time eating Yakiniku, but couldn’t have found a better restaurant to start with. The owner and staff were extremely helpful, had an english menu and were very nice!
The meat was so good, I don’t even know where to begin. I ordered all sorts of cuts and 2 thick slabs of prime A5 beef and it just melted in my mouth. I wanted to order more but was simply too full.
The coals were already heated, service was so quick and the bill arrived just as quick, I mean I didn’t even have to say anything, they already knew what I wanted, proper Japanese hospitality right there!
The owner even proudly showed his Wagyu A5 certificate, you could clearly see he loves what he does, and cares about the products he sets on the table.
So kind owner (i’m sorry I didn’t ask your name) but thanks again for a...
Read moreA good choice of excellent meat and vegetables. The luxury combo platter was especially delicious, some of tye best meat I've had, and is good value. Menus are in English and while the staff has limited (but decent) English they are willing to use translate apps to communicate so there were no issues there. The atmosphere is great, but it could do with a little artwork as the walls are slightly bare, didn't ruin the experience but just a thought. Definitely a great meal and I look forward to returning next time I am in Tokyo.
EDIT: In responces to the owners reply I would like to clarify that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the presentation and seasoning of the meat, it was all stunning. Just thought I'd...
