Tokichiro ramen restaurant was a great experience. Delicious noodles and a flavorful broth; attentive service and a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere. We loved the Dan Dan noodle soup which was excellent. When you enter, you will need to place your order and pay via a machine. If you have not done this before, it can be a bit intimidating as all the items are in Japanese. However, there is a menu in English propped on the top of the machine and it explains the four types of ramen available. I selected the premium noodles and the rich noodles with spice at level 1 and a beer. The premium noodles did not have a spice level, so if you order it and don’t like spicy food, I would let the chef know. Also if you are allergic to: Shrimp, Peanuts or Wheat, tell the chef and he can exclude these items. The buttons on the machine match the order on the menu, so it is not that hard to order. If you need help, just ask. After you select your items and put in your cash, you will receive a receipt that you will hand to the chef. Read moreThis review is past due. During my stay i stubbled up to this establishment with a friend. Hidden Gem in hearts of Asakusa you will find Tokichiro that servers four style of ramen. Depending on your preference, you can choose dry noodles or ramen soup. My favorite was the premium. This dish is packed with flavors that complement each other effortlessly. Spicy Creamy based broth garnished with crispy shrimp, green onion, peanuts,!and hot black chili. Atmosphere is cozy and intimate with limited seating. With solo Master chef preparing each dish to perfection with mouth full of flavors; this establishment fills up fast and sometimes there could be a wait up to 30 min at the door. Would highly recommend. Opens @11Am-3pm for lunch and at 5-9pm
Ps. Thank you for making my travel experience to Japan much memorable with your delicious plates. Can’t...
Read moreAmazing flavour combinations and innovations. It was close to closing time and no one in the queue but not enough places for the two of us. Waited less than 10 minutes. Put cash in the machine and then make your choice. Unfortunately I rushed my choice and selected non-alcoholic beer. Fortunately the chef picked up on it and confirmed I wanted alcoholic beer. Paid a little extra at the counter to change it. There was a smoked tea waiting for me at the counter and it goes so well with the Premium Ramen. Don’t normally like Kirin beer but again it’s a perfect match for the food. Everything about this place just seems to be orchestrated meticulously. All the people there were very respectful, if speaking, very softly. I wish the very best to our host. One of the best dining...
