Room was small-which is not unexpected with most hotels in tokyo area. But!!! For a budget hotel it is very well appointed (as compared to some of the hotels -in same class- in europe that we experienced last year and year before (in-room slippers and kettle are not as common these days )) with room slippers, bathroom slippers, a kettle, huge mirror (not just in the bathroom but in the study/bedroom area), complete set of basic toiletries that include toothbrush, comb, razors, wash towel, soap, shampoo, conditioner, face and hand soap. Room was quiet. No sounds of walking or rolling luggage wheels late at night. Bed and pillows- a double bed. I found it comfy. They provide 2 neck shaped pillows that are actually for sleeping on and not just for decor. As someone who requires 2 pillows minimum, this was very nice. My mom who has a spine problem and prefers more dense/hard bed is not a fan though
Also there's an AC.
Elevator: theres only 1. If you happen to be joining a tour group this might be a problem especially in early morning runs to catch breakfast, luggage checkout and the tour bus but if you are DIY-ing the trip, it shouldnt be a problem
Breakfast: can be taken as late as 11am. Its Plated- 3 choices. I had the japanese breakfast (salmon) for 5 mornings and do not regret it. Location: there's a grocery store just around the corner and very walkable to and from asakusa/sensoji area-pass the grocery and literally just cross the road. Service: even if they dont clean the room daily, as announced at check-in, they make sure to replace the bathroom towels every day. Receptionists especially Mr. Sir-i-dont know-his-name is always all smiles and not scary to approach as a foreigner who can barely speak japanese. They have a ticket system for storing luggage Highlight: the amazing shower pressure and temperature makes the day long...
Read moreThe room is small (but expected for a typical business hotel for 1 person in tokyo - and expected for the price/star rating of the hotel). It was similar in size to another APA hotel I stayed at elsewhere previously. That being said, I was glad to find the room was not dusty and the sheets perfectly clean. I had room 505 which was right in front of the elevator. Also, the AC worked really well and the mini refrigerator worked super well (kept items I wanted to keep frozen - well frozen). New towels were provided each day and bottle of water on the first day. Also, there's a supermarket called Ozeki which is 1-2 minutes walk from the hotel and Seims (drug store) with Daiso (100 yen store; on the 3rd floor where Seims was) about 5 minutes walk from the hotel which was open 24 hours. Seims was nice to have nearby because unlike other drug stores offering 5% off+tax free, they offered 10% off+tax free after spending 10,000 yen. Just note for travelers using this hotel, if you have luggage, the only Asakusa station exit with elevator is A2b. Otherwise, taking any other exits will mean lots of stairs. Also, the distance to Asakusa station wasn't as convenient as I would've liked, but nonetheless, it was quite close by - it just wasn't right outside the hotel. The hotel also offered to hold onto my luggage after checking out at 10am and there's a microwave + washing machine + vending machine on the first floor. The location felt very safe to walk around even at night and very early in the morning (in the direction of sensoji) and my room was very quiet and I heard no loud noises or any of...
Read moreIf you arrive at Haneda the Toei Asakusa line takes you right to the Asakusa area without the need to change trains. This is advantageous as you don't want to lug your heavy luggage around looking for the correct platform if you have to change trains. Same for when you depart but not all trains go to Haneda. There will be signs to tell you if the approaching train is going to Haneda. If you go to subway entrance A2b there is an elevator.|From the subway entrance it is a short walk to the hotel. But there are many APA hotels around the same vicinity. Make sure you get the right one.|Check in was fast and easy. Access to the lift is via key card. |The room is typical of most mid range hotels, small with little space to move around but with all the necessary amenities. There was a fridge, kettle, tv, slippers, toiletries. The bathroom is also typical, tight space with a small bathtub, wc with integrated bidet.|Check out is early 10am but you can keep your luggage with them. The staff is very helpful.|The hotel is close to the Sensoji Temple and the Sumida Park. The tourist information centre is also nearby as are convenience stores and many restaurants and shops. Asakusa is a nice part to be in but be aware that this part of Tokyo is farther from the centre of town than Shinjuku or Shibuya. Subway travel will take longer time and fewer...
