I aimed for eating the dishes that were said to be authentic Nepalese and skipped my usual palak paneer. I must say I don't really find this food so very Nepalese; I have eaten on Nepalese restaurants in Belfast (UK) and Stockholm (Sweden) but unfortunately not in Nepal (although I traveled several times to India and have eaten genuine Indian food that is somewhat resembling). Since i am vegetarian I took Daal-soup, vegetable masala and roti/chapati. The daal was quite tasteless and the vegetable masala vad said in the menu to be a delicate mixture of vegetables but consisted of 59 % green peas, 39 % carrots and 2% mushrooms, overcooked broccoli and some sweet peppers. Apart from chili there was no other spices - I could make a better vegetable masala blindfolded at home. The roti tasted more like a pancake and I believe they have put som eggs there.

If you’re into Nepalese/Indian cuisine you can definitely pay this place a visit. We had shrimp masala, soup with dumplings and traditional pea soup (number one on the menu). Everything was nice, but pea soup was the clear winner: it was properly spiced and felt very authentic. Btw, if you’ve never tried Nepalese cuisine, I can still recommend the place, you can certainly find something for yourself to start with. Why not 5 stars? Because everything was just good, but I couldn’t find anything (neither in atmosphere, nor in food we tried) that would really make this special and tick that 5 star checkbox. Also, mango lassi had too much yogurt and too...
