Service at this place is getting worst by worst. I used to be fan of this place and went every once in a while, there was a mature man who tried to speak several languages and he was very professional, friendly and polite, but I didn't see him on the last couple of visits and when he is not there then service is really awful. Once we went there and they came out with the surprise of non having alcohol license. UPDATE alcohol license works again. Last time we were there, we sat down and the waitress came to take our order, we know that the have some interesting local alcohol and as we had a guest from another country we wanted her to try, so we asked to the waitress for the menu, she gave us the menu and never came back to us. After some time one of us went to the toilet and saw her standing at the bar, told her that were ready to order, she never came to us. Again, after some minutes I stud up and went to her and asked her if she could take our order, she smiled and said yes but never went to us. What we all heard is that the barman was having some discussion with her, yelling some bad words and they were dealing something with some checks, accounting stuff, but come on to yell bad words in front of customers and to keep the waitress from taking orders at tables is really low. We decided to leave and I told her "We were waiting for you" she didn't say anything, only pulled out a fake smile. So I'm never wasting my time in this place again. Food = Price is a bit higher than average, portions are large. Menu variety is not so wide. Tasty but not...
Read moreThis restaurant is the definition of true service. I’ve never had such an extraordinary and yet authentic service at a restaurant. From the moment we arrived, the host was incredibly friendly, humorous, and genuinely made us feel welcomed. It set the tone for the entire evening.
The highlight for me was the pumpkin cream soup. Hands down the best I’ve ever had! The combination of goat cheese, cranberries, parsnip crisps and served with a nice and freshly baked bread, it was simply divine. It was rich, comforting, and perfectly balanced. My partner had the fish soup, he enjoyed it very much. He also enjoyed the long island cocktail.
We also tried the deer steak, which was a first for me. I found it quite delicious and not gamey at all. My partner, who’s more familiar with venison, felt it was a bit bland and tougher than he’s used to. Though, I can’t judge as I have no point of comparison. Still, it was a special dish to try.
The overall ambiance was just lovely. Romantic and cozy with candlelit tables, making the evening feel even more special.
To top it all off, the host personally walked us to the door and handed us coupons for our next visit. I didn’t catch his name, but he truly made our evening unforgettable. Wishing him all the best, he’s a gem.
We’ll absolutely be coming back. This place is definitely a must...
Read moreOkay, this was a wierd one.. We heard the food was good, so we went there. We were amazed at first, by the beautiful decor and the atsmofere. The owner gave us a story about the place, and we loved it. We got some beer, and a starter of a lovely, bounzy bread.
But then it came to the actual food.. We orderd their medival menu, which consists of different meats, that you choose your self. We orderd catfish, quial, spiny lobster and dear, with the house wine, besides the drink that followed the menu.
Well.. The waiter takes over, and even though it is just us 2 People and 6 others, she kinda forgot us. We tried to get her attention in any way that didn't involve us looking like dumb turists (whistling, calling etc). But she was very interested in her phone a lot of the time, so I ended up, going up to her instead. . .
We didnt get our drink we orderd to the food, only the one that came with the menu (a very sweet mead) When food came, the catfish was not that bad, but very salty and stingy. The dear was overcooked and chewy all the way though. The quial was dry, and lacked some flavour. But the spiny lobster was good, just sad it was such a little bite.
I will say, this place is good for a beer/drinks with friends, and the snacks are fine. But for 92 euro, our visit was not very pleasing for that...
