Tarbush Penang — Restaurant in George Town

I’ve always known Tarbush uses top-quality ingredients, and I have no complaints about that—hence the premium prices. And today, as expected, the food was delicious.

When I first entered, the staff greeted me with a good smile and even suggested a nice place to sit, which I appreciated. It made for a welcoming start to the meal.

But here’s where things got... extra ‘flavorful.’ As I was enjoying my meal, I noticed quite a few uninvited guests—mosquitoes everywhere. One of them, unfortunately, had the worst day of its life and ended up stuck on my last pizza slice. Talk about an unexpected protein boost. 😂

Now, I wasn’t too upset at first—it’s not even an outdoor area, so I was surprised. These things happen sometimes. But when I told the staff, instead of offering a replacement or at least an apology, he just said, ‘This didn’t come from the kitchen,’ took my pizza slice, and disappeared. Never saw him again. Maybe he ate it?

I’ll still say Tarbush has great food, but I really hope they improve the environment and train their staff to handle these...

The ambiance is chic and cozy, though the space isn’t too large. Despite that, the food, drinks, and shisha are top-notch!

The menu features a variety of flavorful and authentic Middle Eastern dishes, served in generous portions at reasonable prices. Whether you're here for a hearty meal or just to relax with shisha, you won’t be disappointed.

For shisha lovers, there’s a dedicated porch area at the back, where you can enjoy your session. While it can get a bit warm, two large outdoor fans help keep things comfortable, especially on a sunny day.

The staff are friendly, adding to the pleasant experience. I had a great time dining and enjoying shisha with my colleague, and I’d definitely recommend Tarbush Penang if you’re looking to try...

Tarbush is hands down one of the best Arabic restaurants I’ve ever been to! From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and exceptional service. The food? Absolutely divine! Every dish was bursting with authentic flavors,fresh perfectly seasoned, and cooked to perfection. You can truly taste the quality in every bite.

The ingredients were incredibly fresh, the presentation was beautiful, and the aroma alone had me excited before even tasting anything. It’s rare to find a place where everything — from the starters to the dessert — hits the mark, but Tarbush absolutely nailed it. The ambiance was cozy and welcoming, making it a perfect spot for both casual dining and special occasions.

I left with a full stomach and a big smile, already thinking about my next visit. Highly recommended for anyone who loves Arabic cuisine or simply wants a memorable, satisfying dining experience. I’d give more than 5...
