Update Jan 7, 2024: back 9 months later and the classic la la noodles is still so damn good! The chef even remembers me from last year :) Lucked out on a rainy Sunday afternoon and they didn’t have the usual crazy crowd/hard to find a seat. So glad the taste and quality/price are still A+! I’ll be back often next two months :) 3* for atmosphere because, as you know, ICC pudu 1st floor food glass is without air con and pretty warm even on a cooler rainy day.
Prior review 2033: ICC Pudu is a food lover’s paradise, no wonder the locals complain about the meal time crowds here, and the difficulty of trying to find parking in the neighborhood. So many highly rated food stalls here (probably some +50 food vendors), but my first is LaLa Noodles shop (left side towards the back half). The lala noodles here is better than the one I liked in Chinatown at 丽丰啦啦米粉 Lai Foong Lala Noodle & it costs about 25% less (my bowl was $2.50 (11RM here)) with about 50% more clams! So good, nice taste & aroma of clams, garlic, ginger & Chinese rice wine. The man who cooks up your order is friendly/nice.
Sure the space has no AC, but I’ve never seen so many ceiling fans so there was a constant breeze. Just get here by noon or you may have to wait for your food or need to search for an open table.
Update - on my third try, I finally got the curry Lala noodles today, which is only offer on Sunday and you need to get there before 1130 before it sells out. I tried last Sunday arriving at 11:45 and it was sold out.
The taste is very good, especially if you like yellow curry aroma and flavor. I did not detect any rice wine in this dish unlike the original Lala noodles, I also see bits of garlic, but you don’t really taste that very much because you mostly taste the curry flavor and ginger . This is a must try if you are a fan of the original Lala noodles and especially if you love curry. The original Lala noodles is still my favorite because I like that aroma and flavor of rice, wine and garlic, being strong in it, but I can see myself having the curry version once or...
Read moreWas here for breakfast since there is lots of good comments. When it's time to serve, the aroma of the Chinese wine was all around my surroundings. It's fragrance with humongous of clamps or La La. The broth is clear and flavorful (surprisingly) just a little hint of ginger spicyness. Overall fully recommended and did emptied my bowl. I saw lots of customer bungkus and the end result will not be tasty anymore because the clamp or La La will be over cooked. It is best way is to seperately bungkus the La La and the soup. When reach home, just cook the soup till boil then pour it onto the prepared bowl of rice noodle and La La. That way you still can enjoy the clamp without feeling bitting a rubber. For those patrons who commented that there's sand on the La La or clamp, it's not sand. It's actually its shell that been broken...
Read moreAnother noteworthy dish at the ICC Pudu Food Court is the Lala Noodle, priced at a reasonable RM15. This delightful bowl of noodles is located conveniently near the beef noodle stall.
The noodles were cooked perfectly, maintaining a pleasant chewiness that complemented the savory broth. The lala (clams) were fresh, adding a burst of briny flavor to the dish. The broth itself was a highlight – rich and aromatic, with hints of garlic and ginger that elevated the overall taste.
For RM15, the portion size was generous, offering good value for money. The combination of fresh ingredients and flavorful broth made this dish a standout. If you’re visiting ICC Pudu Food Court, the Lala Noodle is definitely...
