Desperately wanted Chee Chong Fun, and came across one inside Pudu Mall where the wet market is underground (basement). It's crowded with locals, but of course all the workers are "imported" from I think Myanmar. I didn't try other foods, apparently curry laksa is famous. The auntie next to me came and asked what's famous here to the waitress. The waitress said laksa, but she ordered toast with less butter and less kaya because she has high blood pressure, literally. Then don't eat! lol The waitress was professional, butter is fixed size, can't adjust, less kaya ya, she confirmed. That's when she explained again her diet restriction. Right away, the waitress said, it's better don't have kaya then, she helped her to change her order. She admitted. The story was too interesting and it continued with dietary challenge with kopi. Unfortunately I lost that part. And the end, she ordered a soup. Maybe it's time revolution should take place. How about stores that take care of all that concern and change how we have been eaten for Malaysian eat-out? Dietary is a concern but there is no option now especially for the elderly, well average Malaysian has the highest diabetes mellitus in Southeast Asian countries. Everything wants to be No. 1, dietary street food should be the next high demand industry.

My recent visit with a friend was a bit of a letdown. The Hainan tea is great and the toast is pretty good indeed, but unfortunately that's as far as the positives go. There was 1 Chinese uncle that I thought that was pretty rude while serving us. My friend just finished his noodle, was taking a sip of his tea before going for his wanton soup. While he's drinking his tea, the uncle came over and asked "don't wanna have the soup? I'll take it away". Like why would you wanna do that especially when the customer is obviously still enjoying his meal. Apparently this is not the only case, quite a few of the customers also experienced similar rude treatment by an uncle (I assume it's the same person) in the past reviews. The atmosphere is noisy and can get rather crowded during peak hour since it's a kopitiam. I'd also like to point out the cleanliness of the toilet is terrible but that's not really controlled by the restaurant owner as far as I'm concerned. As for the parking, there's plenty of parking in the building itself as well as nearby places, so it shouldn't be an issue. Overall, a pretty decent spot for breakfast if it wasn't for the rude uncle, but nothing spectacular and doubt I'll be back again after what I experienced last time.

This was my favourite meal in KL! Was a little confused and lost when we reached, but a local in the queue was kind enough to help us get a table for 3. You just have to queue and let the uncle know how many pax you have and they will quickly allocate a table for you when it’s available. The staff recommended their signature toast and buns, as well as hainan tea - which was so fragrant!! You can order food from other stalls and dine here as well, only drinks are not allowed - just get their hainan tea here anyway it’s tasty! We got curry cheongfun and lala soup from other stores and they were so delicious omg. (P/S: curry cheongfun lady was very angsty though) The lala soup was packed full with lala, and the broth is so comforting to drink I can’t explain it but I love it. Further in there’s a store that sells pandan & brown sugar kuehs with coconut shreds, it’s not too sweet and tasted really good too! You will also see a really popular coffee store that sells claypot coffee as well, it’s so unique! Found the coffee too strong though. Spent less than 20rm/pax here in total and left super satisfied and happy! Highly recommend.

Used to frequent this place for breakfast a few times a week before I hit to the gym in KLCC.

One day the front counter uncle lashed out at me for taking what he deemed a bigger table. Everyone nearby just paused and stared. EXTREMELY RUDE! EXTREMELY HUMILIATED!

The thing is…when this place gets overcrowded you are doomed, to make things worse, they arranged the tables extremely close to each other to the extent you can’t tell if there’s any vacant seat.

I almost left, but the younger boss who always wears a red shirt did try his best to resolve the conflict. He knew I was his regular as we chatted sometimes, so I just decided to give them a chance and stayed. Anyhow, I just don’t feel like visiting again despite how good their toast and drinks could be. IMO, their food is just better than the average but not amazing at best!

One year on, I came back with friends, and to my surprise, the younger boss still remembered me. But too bad, on my second visit after a hiatus, another terrible customer experience unfolded.

One of their staffs (an old uncle) came and asked us to tone down our voice cuz he couldn’t take the order. To be fair, this place is stuffy and there’s just so much noise even without us making a sound. In no way we’re shouting, I wonder how our giggles can cause a havoc to their operation. What a not so friendly ask turned into a nasty nag, another staff came and repeated the same thing. What a joke!

If I’m not wrong they used to have a POS system for ordering. Anyways, they just get messier and don’t seem to get any better if you scroll thru other reviews on customer service.

Yes, I’m here for inexpensive kaya butter toasts, hainan tea and eggs despite their price increased. So, what should I expect? A 5-star service? Hell no, I’m not delusional like that. All in all, this place is far from decent.

Will I miss their breakfast and visit again? Maybe or maybe not. It’s not smart to risk your morning getting spoiled by...

WORST of THE WORST KOPITIAM - BEVERAGE STAFF !!!

I had lunch today with another 3 colleagues at this AH WENG KOH HAINAN TEA & COFFEE and guess what? We had THE WORST ATTITUDE & RUDEST CONFRONTATION by the STAFF of the beverage/AH WENG KOH HAINAN TEA & COFFEE (He is an old chinese man) just because we did not order any beverage from him!!! Since when not ordering drinks is a crime???

This UNPROFESSIONAL, UNETHICAL & HORRIBLE staff came to our table and told us that we should sit outside (meaning not in his so-called kopitiam) if we did not order any drinks from his place when there is no such rules stated anywhere neither in his kopitiam nor any notices paste to inform such ridiculous and stupid standard (I should say ZERO SERVICE STANDARDS)!!! We ordered noodles soup for lunch at his kopitiam and just because without ordering any drinks, we were treated like a thrash!!!!!

By the way, the only notice pasted everywhere at this kopitiam stated "Outside Drink Prohibited". I guess that staff needs a translator to understand what his own kopitiam's notice's means!

We were the regular customers for the pork noodles stall in this kopitiam and every single time we were there, the kopitiam staff always gave rude stares to customers if there is no beverage ordering especially a slim chinese lady. It is an EXTREMELY UNPLEASANT dining experience but the WORST is the staff behind this kopitiam - beverage who acts like a mobster today!

I strongly hope future food lovers can try other food stalls and kopitiam in ICC Pudu because the other food & beverage operators are none of the above!

NO WONDER THIS KOPITIAM HAVING LESS AND LESS CUSTOMERS and the reason is OBVIOUSLY THE WORST ATTITUDE OF ITS STAFF!

Please read all its lowest comments and reviewers wrote the same thing about them which is BAD ATTITUDE & SUPER ARROGANT...RUDE and the...

Important Tip for ICC Food Hunt Visitors

If you plan to sit inside the AH WENG KOH HAINAN TEA kopitiam area at ICC, be aware that YOU MUST ORDER food & drinks from the stalls within that compound. Strictly NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINK ARE ALLOWED.

Unfortunately, we learned this the hard way — I had a very unpleasant experience at this establishment due to the rude and unprofessional behavior of the staff—particularly the older man and woman working there.

While I completely understand and respect that outside food and drinks are not allowed, I had no intention of consuming the takeaway coffee I brought in. I simply placed it on the table while preparing to order a drink from their stall. Before I even had a chance to do so, the man abruptly confronted me in a harsh tone, reprimanding me for bringing in the coffee—despite the fact that no one at the reception had informed me of this rule.

To make matters worse, the woman came over and, without a word or any opportunity for me to explain, took the coffee away. I was not even given the courtesy of placing my order or clarifying the situation.

This kind of treatment is completely unacceptable. Rules can and should be enforced, but they must be communicated clearly and respectfully. Rudeness and aggressive behavior only drive customers away. I left feeling disrespected and disappointed—and I will not be returning to this Kopitiam.

The coffee and tea served here weren’t particularly impressive and could definitely use improvement. However, we did try their curry mee, which was quite good and worth a try.

Advice for future visitors: If your goal is to sample all the famous food at ICC, it’s best to find a seat outside, near the stalls, rather than inside the kopitiam area. This way, you can freely enjoy dishes from different vendors without...
