I didn't know this place is so convenient it's located right in the smack of Petaling Street almost close to the junction. Saw reels of this place on social media and quite attracted to the food they serve and decided to pay a visit. Visited on a weekend afternoon slightly past 1pm and it was rather quiet with not many customers. Was handed the menu and I have to say the spread is really good and I was at a loss of what to eat. Took some time to decide on several items fearing that I might not be able to finish, so I ordered the Omurice with salted egg and chicken chop, the half boiled egg with kaya toast and a iced tea. Food was prepared and served very fast and the portion was quite big. Thank god I didnt order too much and I still struggled to finish everything. The Omurice was better than I expected. Loved the watery scrambled egg covering the rice and then topped with 2 chicken chops and then a layer of salted egg sauce. So sinful but so delicious. I also enjoyed the rice as it was not plain rice and was nasi lemak instead with a slightly sweet taste. The iced milk tea was not bad, tasted pretty old school which initially I thought might taste Thai style but it didn't disappoint. It wasn't too sweet either. Lastly the half boiled egg was okay but it was more than half boiled almost close to being cooked. The kaya toast was not bad, I seemed to enjoy the butter more than the kaya. The first piece was quite crispy but the subsequent pieces tasted soggy and also the toasts were a little too thick for my liking, and I also didn't like the way it was cut that made it look like a stick. Overall still quite enjoyable, too many things on the menu I wanted to try so will definitely try to visit again. Prices are quite reasonable so...
Read moreThe restaurant had only 1 other customer. Since I was last in Chinatown this restaurant looks new, it was the Swiss Hotel the last time I was here.
The staff seemed happy as they were talking to each other. However it was not explained that you have to push a button on the table to get any service. So I waited and waited until I caught the eye of a waitress.
Then and only then was this button explained. The waitress was polite and took my order.
I took a selfie with the staff photo bombing the picture. It was a nice touch as there was very little for them to do.
My drink arrived which was delicious. I watched the cook prepare my beef and cheese sandwich.
The sandwich was delicious however it was small. I think a lot of menus give the impression that the food portion is bigger than it actually is. If I was asked if I wanted something else I would have looked at the menu again and chose more food.
When I went to pay I was asked to tip, I didn't as the service was okay but not amazing.
If the owner reads this then ask staff to greet customers walk them to the table and explain how things work.
Instead of dropping the menus on the table, hand the menu to the customer open at the drinks page.
Interact with the customer with small talk.
Explain what is available at the time of day, as the breakfast menu was given but the time on the menu suggested it was unavailable.
Staff should provide a high level of customer service which in turn will get them tips. Playing with the phone won't.
I would actually return but there are 1000's of places to eat in the area and they gave me no...
Read moreSame lot as Floresta Hotel in Petaling Street. Super spacious, plenty of seats inside and outside.
I find the sofa uncomfortable as the depth of the sofa is too short, my butt is kinda hanging.
Peach Tea (rm6.50); nice.
Kopi with Salted Cream (rm12.90); asked for less coffee but it was still too strong for me. i then asked for extra milk, waitress asked condense or fresh milk to which i replied fresh milk. She came back with a tiny saucer of i dont know skim milk maybe?
Tomato Beef Noodle (rm23.90); tomato soup is nice, mixed with black pepper sauce it creates a unique flavouring of peppery and soury at the same time, its surprisingly good. dont mix all of it together because then the peppery taste will be too much. Bit by bit. i would prefer they put a portion of beef in the soup and remainder on side bowl so we can decide how much to put in.
Buttermilk Seafood Noodle (rm29.90); asked to change clams to squid, seafood portion is decent. soup is tasty and yummy.
Service is good, waiter automatically came and gave an empty plate and said for...
