I ordered the dry noodle and the asam laksa. The dry noodles are so-so but it could be a really good side dish if you cannot eat very spicy as the asam laksa is spicy. BUT although it is spicy, I highly recommend it!! It is so good that the servings are filled with the spices and lemongrass and fish. This place has been there a very long time ago and it stays until today but it does not affect how it tastes .
The waiters and boss are very friendly and kind. If you're a highly hygienic person then you will find this place a bit not so good as it is located in the alley, but if you're a very down-to-earth person please do come and have your meal here to experience the local eats.
Chinatown KL is more than buying and shopping, the real gem is all the foods hidden in the allies like this little...
Read moreDeep within the market area, I found the asam laksa shop, still the same as it was years ago.
The shop offers four varieties of food: asam laksa, curry noodles, soup noodles, and dry noodles. I ordered the asam laksa and curry noodles. The asam laksa stands out because the generous aunty includes a large piece of fish in the noodles, and the soup is incredibly flavorful—one sip and you'll be hooked. The curry noodles are also delicious, not overly oily or heavy with coconut milk. They come without chicken, which I prefer as I find eating chicken with bones cumbersome.
Located in an alley within the market, the place has an authentic, old-time feel, though it can be a bit hot. The food is amazing, and you definitely need to try the asam laksa if you...
Read moreA small food store located on the kerbside of the famous Petaling Street, aka Kuala Lumpur Chinatown which serves their specialty local favorite assam laksa or sour fish broth noodles. Premises is small with very limited seatings and hot as ventilation is bad. Queuing for a table here is almost a normal scenario. Food quality and taste is good which actually saved its rating for me, other than the prices which is reasonable for the portion they serve. My concern is food and premises hygiene which is a major eyesore and setback. Parking is non existence here and I recommend using public transportation when getting here. Should try this out if you happens to be in Chinatown, but I would recommend this with some...
