McDonald's - Mid Valley Megamall — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

This is my first and final time visiting this outlet.

This isn’t my usual McDonald’s, but I dropped by after work since it was the most convenient — and also the release day for BTS’s TinyTAN ENCORE Happy Meal combo.

According to McDonald’s official announcement, RM, SUGA, and JUNGKOOK were available that day. I purchased 5 Happy Meals, hoping to collect all 3 different members. However, to my disappointment, all 5 contained only RM and SUGA. As a JUNGKOOK fan, I was undoubtedly let down — but I politely approached a male staff member stationed at the food pick-up counter to ask if I could exchange for JUNGKOOK.

I explained that I had carefully opened the boxes without damaging them, but he responded in Bahasa Malaysia (which is fine), saying that JUNGKOOK was “not available today.” When I showed him McDonald’s official Instagram post confirming JUNGKOOK was released that day, he seemed confused and insisted that I wait until his manager’s shift ended before he could check.

After waiting a few minutes, I returned to ask what time the manager’s shift would end. The staff sighed impatiently, and annoyingly said “I already told you to wait” in an irritated tone, and then called out the next customer’s order — right in my ear. I rolled my eyes and left immediately.

That level of attitude and disregard was truly disappointing. I would’ve appreciated at least a polite explanation or effort to clarify the situation.

For comparison, other McDonald’s outlets I’ve visited have been more accommodating and willing to check for the requested member, even if it meant going the extra mile.

This experience was unpleasant from start to finish. I obviously cant expect 5-star service from a fast food chain, but basic courtesy and effort shouldn’t be too much to ask.

As a highly reputable international chain, I am truly disappointed with the poor service I experienced at one of your locations. The situation is as follows: On December 3rd, 2024, at 11:24 AM, I placed an order through the McDonald's app for a meal set that included a free color cup. My colleague, who placed their order about ten minutes later than me, received their meal and the free color cup after approximately one hour of waiting.

However, despite ordering earlier than my colleague, I had to wait nearly four hours until 3:30 PM to receive my meal. To make matters worse, I was told that the free color cups were already out of stock. I am left confused and frustrated, as my friend received their order and color cup in just one hour, while I had to wait for four hours and received no cup at all.

I find it utterly perplexing that an international chain with such a global reputation would have such poor service, especially when I attempted to contact the branch multiple times during the wait, but no one answered the phone. All I wanted was a simple lunch and the color cup that was part of the promotion.

This experience has left me feeling extremely dissatisfied, and I hope you can address the issue and improve the service at...

I recently visited the McDonald’s outlet at Mid Valley Megamall and my experience was quite average. The location is very convenient since it’s inside one of the busiest malls in KL, but because of that, the place is almost always crowded. Finding a table can be difficult during peak hours, especially during lunch and dinner times.

The ordering process was smooth – they have self-ordering kiosks as well as counter service. Staff were polite and tried their best to manage the heavy crowd, though sometimes the waiting time for food was a bit longer than expected.

As for the food, it was the standard McDonald’s taste – consistent with other outlets. Fries were fresh and crispy, and the burger was fine, though not very warm by the time it reached my table due to the long queue. Drinks were properly served, and the overall quality was acceptable.

The dining area, however, could have been cleaner. With so many people coming in and out, the tables were not cleaned as quickly as they should be. This is one area the management should definitely improve.

Overall, this McDonald’s is a convenient choice if you are already at Mid Valley Mall and craving fast food. Just be prepared for the crowd, possible waiting time, and average...
