I actually came back to this restaurant after trying other nearby, highly rated Indian restaurants in the area. The roti canai is the best in KL, and best I've ever had. It's soft, fluffy, and made to order on the spot. The lentil soup is also delicious. The lassi was also refreshing and delicious. Would highly recommend to all!

The decor of the restaurant may not compare to the other highly rated ones, but its easily, the best Indian food in the area.

As an aside, there is a gentleman who stands out the front of the restaurant (Barand - I hope I've spelt your name correctly sir!)- the gentleman in the maroon shirt who you can see in my photo next to the sign - he is the cheeriest, most welcoming person in KL. He is an absolute asset to this business and would have come back just because of him. They also give out free food to homeless, and we happened to be passing by when this was happening. Definitely a local business which should be...

Honestly, I think price is way too expensive. We went there for lunch and ordered maggi mee goreng ayam, nasi goreng kampung and nasi kandar. Maggi mee goreng ayam + teh o limau panas are RM14. I mean … how much can teh o limau panas worth? RM3 max? So means maggi mee goreng ayam was RM11?? Meanwhile, the nasi kandar is crazy. My friend took 1pc of small chicken, 1 small portion of cabbage and 1 papadam + 1 teh tarik panas. Price was RM16 for her. It’s a bit crazy. Meaning the nasi and lauk costs her RM14??? I think it’s overpriced because they factored in the rental. For armosphere, I don’t think there’s aircond but it feels alright because of open air concept. Well, overall food is not too bad but honestly I don’t think this mamak will sustain for long given the pricy food choices....

I would 100% recommend Chayas!! We’re from the UK and are currently travelling around SEA. We were looking for somewhere to eat with good food at a reasonable price and came across Chayas on Google maps. It’s right around the corner from two popular hostels. We gave it a go and are so glad we did! Everyone there was so friendly and helpful, recommending dishes and drinks for us to try. When the first dish came we were blown away - and again in equal measures by every subsequent dish! We had the special beef, paneer, cauliflower fry and cheese naan, as well as the milkshake and masala tea to drink. It’s probably the best meal we’ve had since we started travelling - and one of...

Stopped for a quick lunch here. Very well located corner shop along the main road. Had rice with a piece of fried chicken, some cabbage and curry. Before taking the rice, the new plate itself is super oily and sticky. Used a tissue to wipe off the grime and the tissue looked brownish color. Already a put-off. Cabbage lack seasoning and tasted bland and weird. Curry also lacked seasoning, tasted like bland sauce. Fried chicken was ok. Paid RM 11 for this. There are better options nearby.

I always point and shoot on top of biryani when I go here and it’s usually late in the night after long evening of socialising. They have many great options. I almost always go with the chana masala along with other additions. The staff here is great and very welcoming. They make you feel like you’re family there. Usually I order a pile when I go so it ends up a bit over 20 ringgits but I’m sure you could get that way down without a fat drunk hungry man order 🤣
