Q were cut when we just started q ing. There is no one control the crowd outside , everyone start to walk in n ask for table n stay inside. But lucky we already put our name in the waiting list. The poor customers behind us did not do so hence the customers behind them went in and stay inside knowing the q is long.. but eventually came out. We were brought to the second level to sit after sometimes which is ok coz we understand the place is popular n lot of people wanted to try the dishes. We ordered our food after looking at the menu . After around 10mins another guy came up and ask us for the order again so we repeated our order. So we waited , until 7plus they suddenly send us a bowl of fries and we appreciated the gesture. They apologize for the waiting time. We wait again, then came our chicken cutlets so we assume our pasta will be ready any time soon. After another 45 mins then this waiter came with two plate of pasta, went to the table beside us and then to us . He said something funny, he ask us what is the two pasta he is holding , I tried to tell him our order but I not going to assume the one he holding is the salted fish pasta and the big boss pasta. The table next to us which come later then us suddenly said it’s their. The waiter just put at their table without even going down to clarify with the kitchen. I am very disappoint with cafe having such services. We were already very hungry while waiting at the q and all way till we seated thinking it might be worth the wait . But coming to me and ask me what is the pasta he is holding or dun even clarify with the kitchen make me think this cafe is very unprofessional from handling the crowd at the entrance to order the food and serving the food. Are there no one with cafe experience working today ? You guys need to train your staffs properly and don’t let this happen again. In the end we lost our appetite after waiting for so long we just paid for our...
Read moreTimothy Cafe has been on my to go list for a while now, and I finally got the chance to drop by.
We reached the shop at about 5:50pm, and most of the tables were reserved (we were seated at a table reserved for 7:30pm). The shop is quite small, and tables are limited, so I'm not sure if reservations are the best in this case. Some may hate me, but I suggest removing it as I see many customers eager to dine in but were forced to wait, although there were a number of empty tables that were reserved.
Now onto the food & drinks:
• Osmanthus Latte 2/5 Flavour isn't great, not my cup of tea.
• Miso Carbonara 4/5 The good: I really liked the texture of the pasta in the carbonara sauce. The bad: the egg white was not runny, and there was no miso taste at all. It's a really delicious carbonara to me but just... NOT miso carbonara.
• The Gigolo 2/5 Overall underwhelming - the whole dish was not fragrant nor well flavoured, with most of the flavour coming from the smoked duck. The texture of the pasta is also not really impressive compared to the carbonara.
• Beef Stew with Mashed Potatoes 3/5 The gravy itself tastes really good and pairs so well with the mashed potatoes. However, the beef was really tough that even poking it with a fork requires some effort. This dish has so much potential but was unfortunately ruined by the meat.
• Tiramisu (4/5) Pretty decent tiramisu, I enjoyed it.
Overall, this place is not as good as i expected, but not terrible. I'd go back when I'm craving for some good carbonara and I'm down to give it a second chance. Partly contributed by their great service and action after listening to our feedback on the dishes (we were given a complimentary tiramisu...
Read moreVisited this cafe on a Saturday morning and it was packed. The dining area felt a bit squeezed and stuffy, making it a little tough to navigate between the tables and chairs, and being so close to other diners wasn't the best. The limited space made it feel a tad confining and not as chill as I'd hoped. Chatter from nearby tables, and the clinking of dishes, all blended together to create a pretty noisy atmosphere for me.
The server was polite, but she didn't really go over the menu. A more detailed explanation of the menu would've been helpful. I ended up ordering the Creamy Butter Masak Lemak Pasta (RM26, RM30 after tax) and a cup of Iced Americano (RM10, RM11+ after tax).
The coffee had a smoky taste, which was kind of interesting, but the overall flavor wasn't super rich or deep. It was an okay cup of coffee, but nothing special imo. (Coffee in the picture was already drinked by me while I wait for my pasta)
The pasta was tasty, but it didn't have as strong Masak Lemak spice as I was expecting. I was hoping for a more authentic and intense/spicy flavor. However, it still had that creaminess to it. The pasta texture wasn't as tender as I liked, probably a bit undercooked than al dente. There's also too little protein and too much curry leaves in the dish, which made me feel that the whole serving portion is underwhelming for its price. Bit hard to justify the RM30 price tag for a pasta with a sprinkle of meat.
Overall, it was an interesting experience dining here. While it is not the best cafe I've been to, the food was definitely good even though the experience was slightly ruined by...
