This was a tremendously disappointing experience. I had wanted to try this place for the last 10 days, I finally got the opportunity. I was absolutely starving. I don't know if the food is nice because I didn't receive any food.
When I arrived at about 6pm the place was packed, as it usually is. There was staff scurrying around in all directions, taking food to tables etc. One of the staff told me in very poor English to sit at any table I wanted which was free. I asked him for a menu, he went to the cashier counter and was looking at menus with the person at the cashier desk. He eventually came back to me after several minutes without any menu and said the menus haven't been updated so I will need to scan the QR code at the table and the updated menu will show up on my phone.
I then choose chicken with rice from the menu on my phone and he went off to get it for me. Or so I thought. 10 minutes went by, then 15, then 20, then 25, but no sign of my order. I assumed it was taking so long because they were so busy. After 35/40 minutes I went to the cashier to see if they forgot about me. It turned out that my order wasn't placed at all! So I had been sitting there for 45 minutes for nothing! I asked the manager why someone didn't come to take my order for 45 minutes but he said it's a self service restaurant and customers have to place the order themselves on their phone. They don't have any waiting staff at all?? If this is true, shouldn't they have signs up on the premises telling customers this? I just wasted 45 minutes sitting at a table for nothing!! I had plans for the rest of the evening so I had to leave without getting any food. A massive...
Read moreTo be honest, I'm not a fan of mee tarik because the taste is quite simple and straightforward. Sometimes can be bland but depending what you need. Mee tarik in general for me is good to eat if you're having the flu or sore throat and you need noodle soup that's not too oily or spicy. Then this meal is good for you.
I came with my friends visiting here and just wanna see (again) what the hype is all about finally. 😂 I ordered standard beef braised noodle and the 12 pieces of dumplings. They don't have lesser portion than that. So, 12 pieces dumplings it is. 🤭
I tried the beef braised noodle again for the first time in a long time. The verdict is? It's about the same taste as I remembered back then. The soup was just okay taste for me. Clear soup type but at least it was served hot, it has chunks of beef that are braised as promised and it came super fast! The minute I press to order, within 1 minute or so, the noodle soup came. I'll give them credit. 👌
Parking can be challenging nearby this area. But there's always paid parking space nearby. After parking, coming to this restaurant, you just have to queue in front of the restaurant and their staff will find an empty table for you. The place is clean, food was overall okay. But the dumplings were definitely the highlight simply because everyone was ordering it 😂 but it tasted pretty good, so no complaints there.
Overall, if you like mee tarik with clear soup, and love eating dumplings, then this is the place for you. They do have different soup based that are more spicy than mine. Perhaps the next time if I'm feeling the mood. Have a good...
Read moreI saw few videos recommended this restaurant in Facebook. Hence, I have higher expectations towards their food. Until I tried their Ramen Beef Noodles Soup and their Lamb Dumplings, I can only say the higher your expectations, the bigger your disappointment. If you like strong fragrant beef soup that cooked with spices then you will not like their crystal clear soup that taste very bland and no excitement. The few thin beef slices very dry and tasteless as if it has been used to cook 100 litres of soup. I prefer our local Malaysia Chinese Beef Noodles Soup & Malay style of Mee Celup but not this one from Lan Zhou because it is too tasteless for me. The Fried Lamb Dumplings has nothing to shout about because the dumpling skin is too thick and the meat filling is little. The seller also mistakenly mixed chicken filling dumpling with my order. When I feedback to the seller, he denied and not so happy. I then discovered the seller fried all other orders together in one huge hot plate, that's why there is a tendency for the seller to mistakenly mixed customers' orders. The only thing that I can praise is their Lamian (Ramen) which has great elasticity and al-dente to the bite. An one time Ramen refill is given too. But the soup was way too clear and tasteless. Therefore, this will be my first and...
