I wish I could give 0 stars, the restaurant served us the stale stinky vegetable biriyani, when questioned, they denied. However we insisted them to taste the food, the manager took a spoonful of rice but was hesitant to eat in front of us (I guess he already knew the food was stale), took it inside & came back after few minutes to say the food was alright. We were a group of 8 & ordered a lot of items, it was very evident the biriyani was not in the consumable state. It does not end here, as I paid the bill at the counter & took the change, the toddler in our group wanted to drop money in the donation box, she could not hold the enthusiasm until I searched for 1RM, so she grabbed the 10 cents change that I got from paying the bill & dropped it. The immediate sarcastic response from the manager was "10 ku mele podadinga" (do not drop more than 10) assuming we did not know Tamil because our group had people from different background & we mostly spoke in English. The service was pathetic, food was stale & the manager was useless. Updated: I just read few reviews & I am not the only one who has experience stale food or the bad behavior of the manager. They ruined the whole KL tour experience. I will never recommend this restaurant to anyone, if anything I would discourage people from...

Visited Saravana Bhavan at Lebuh Ampang, Malaysia expecting the same standard and taste we’ve enjoyed at other branches worldwide. Unfortunately, this experience was a complete letdown.
To our shock, we found a fly inside the sambar, and when we pointed it out to the serving staff, they showed zero seriousness or concern. There was no apology, no action taken – just complete indifference. This level of hygiene negligence is absolutely unacceptable, especially from a brand like Saravana Bhavan that claims to uphold quality and authenticity.
Taste-wise, it was a 180-degree opposite experience compared to what we are used to. The food lacked freshness, flavor, and any appeal you’d expect from such a reputed chain.
This branch is damaging the brand’s name and reputation. It feels like they are riding solely on the name while delivering substandard service and food.
I strongly advise fellow Indian travelers and food lovers to avoid this branch. There are much better South Indian food options available in KL that actually respect both the cuisine and...
Read moreRestaurant Review: Saravana Bhavan We dined at Saravana Bhavan for two days, and while the experience was mixed, the service was commendable.
Service & Hospitality: The staff at the counter was very polite and helpful.
Upon request, he even booked a cab for us, which was a nice gesture.
Food Experience: Day 1: We ordered Fried Rice, Mushroom Biryani, Saravana Special Biryani, and Thali.
Portions were small, so we had to double the quantity for each person.
Later, we tried Schezwan Fried Rice, which was disappointing—it seemed like they used food coloring instead of actual Schezwan flavors.
Day 2: Ordered Chole Bhature, which had a good taste.
Tried Ice Cream Falooda, but it was strange—they added green-colored sabudana, which didn’t work well.
Cost - 1st day we spent 164 MYR, 2nd day - 174 MYR
Final Verdict: If you’re looking for authentic South Indian food, this is a great place.
However, I wouldn’t recommend their North Indian or Chinese dishes as the taste and quality were not up to the mark.
Would I visit again? Yes, but only for South...
