I had recently enjoyed their lunch servings, and the taste of the food attracted my colleagues and me to go for more to this restaurant.
But today, during my early morning visit to this place for my breakfast, to my disappointment, I witnessed the ill-treatment their staff received right in front of their customers. I felt the low vibrational treatment that this lady boss passed on with her arrogant choice of words, the rudeness she exhibited to the staff and the worst that made me decide not to walk into this restaurant in the future was when she uttered the following line to her male worker "You shut up and get out now" in Tamil.
Please learn to treat your staff with due respect and preserve their human dignity and rights. Don't step on them with your title called, "I am the BOSS!"
Seriously, though your food tastes good, you have lost nearly five customers simply for creating an unhealthy environment for us to dine in. Wednesday, 21st June 2023: Referring to the above review given by me two months ago, I would like to add a statement to say that as of today I learned that there are lots of improvements in terms of the treatment these waiters are receiving from their management @ Pappadom Restaurant, Lebuh Ampang.
I love to witness the drastic positive change and the beams of bright smiles on these employees' faces. Thank you, and all the very best,...
Read moreA South Indian restaurant specialising in Banana Leaf Meals (BLM), they have a fair share of regular customers who come for this ubiquitous vegetarian meal. However, many customers of all races also come for the non-veg selections or the Chicken or Mutton Biryani as well.
The BLM itself consists of a selection of 3 vegetable dishes of the day, mango pickle, fried pickled chilli, Rassam, pappadom and a choice of either white rice or par-boiled Indian rice. Three choices of gravy are offered for the rice; sambhar (dhall), chicken curry or fish curry. The Sambhar is the light and mild variety but the fish curry is thick and spicy. You can even try all three gravies, pouring a part on different portions of the rice. Vegetables are well cooked and mushy which is typical of South Indian style of cooking. The BLM is Highly Recommended.
The non-veg items are brought to your table on a tray for a quick selection. I picked the Chicken Varuval which was a decent potion of chicken coated in a thick and spicy gravy. The masala gravy was very flavourful and this paired nicely with the BLM rice. This is Recommended.
The Fried Tenggiri fish was freshly fried and still warm, with a slightly crispy outer later layer. If they could use fresh fish, this would get a thumbs up too.
A Cow’s Milk Bru Coffee is recommended to end a meal here. It comes strong,...
Read moreSolid indian place. Tried the mutton biryani, which was absolutely delicious. The south Indian vegetarian meal is a steal, all you can eat for just 8rm. The curries in that could need a bit more punch in my opinion though. Also be aware, that they serve thosai and roti just until 1130 and after 1700. So I had to come back for masala thosai the next day. The thosai itself is great, crispy and well done. I can recommend to get a crispy paper thosai with sugar as some kind if sweet dessert. Roti canai is great too, I also liked the white and red chutney. The masala thosai potato filling was a bit disappointing sadly, a bit too watery for my taste I prefer it a bit more mushy and dry with more flavor. Last words about the Masala chai: first time delicious, next time extremely bitter with a cardamom overload, the "fixed" version extremely spicy with a ginger overload. A bit more consistency would be great. Prices are very fair though, service is attentive und very friendly and the...
