They're most well known for their Chee Cheong Fun and Hakka Yong Tau Foo. One of my favourites here is the Curry Chee Cheong Fun with Dried Shrimp. The chee cheong fun is nice and smooth and the not too thick curry has a mild spiciness.
If curry is not your thing, you can have the Sweet Sauce Chee Cheong Fun with Dried Shrimps also instead. The addition of fragrant dried shrimps is what makes the chee cheong fun here different from the rest.
Other than chee cheong fun, their wide selection of yong tau foo is the other much sought after thing here. Besides the usual choices of stuffed eggplant, bitter gourd, ladies finger, chillies, fried and soup prawn dumplings and various fried stuff, there are also vegetable options with some unique offerings of four angle beans with fish paste, long beans and broccoli wrapped in fu chuk, luncheon meat wrapped in fu chuk and fried intestines.
As usual, the fried items are our favourites. As these are Hakka yong tau foo, I believe the fillings are a mixture of fish and pork, perhaps some but not all the yong tau foo types. Another must-have for me is the fried wantan and the one here has salted egg yolk in its filling. Yet another ingenious way of serving us luncheon meat wrapped in bean...
Read moreThere were a lot of people from work during lunch hours. They seem to be famous for their lou shu fen, chee cheong fun, fried shrimp dumplings and pumpkin barley..
All the cooks and servers do not speak mandarin. I observed all customers conversed with them in Malay or English. Despite so, one of the guy were being helpful to me trying to answer my queries since this is my first time visiting the store..
They ran out of the okra and brinjal yong tao fu at 12:30PM but luckily the server brought out new batches for me. I didnât like the leftover pieces in the previous trays and the new batches seemed fresher and bigger in size too.. I also got the bok choy which looked well cleaned..
The only complained I had was with the seating.. it felt quite stuffy.. we managed to get a table on the outside at the walkway but people smoke in front of the store so it was suffocating..
I guess this is more of a popular lunch choice for people working in the area because the lou shu fen is indeed tasty and the soup yong tao fu felt healthy and fresh.. I saw a lot of people ordering the pumpkin barley too.. but Iâm not sure if this is a place I would come purposely just for the food unless Iâm nearby.. itâs just not as enjoyable as I...
Read moreIt's super difficult to find parking in this area. I chose to park in an empty lot (car wash and open air) Opposite the caltex station. The auntie did not hesitate to charge me RM 5 even though I informed her only to park a while to have my lunch. Better park elsewhere and walk. It is good exercise. Actually wanted to eat wanton mee but close. Then walk to chicken rice and the roast pork shop is also closed. Too lazy to qué for the Chinese lady who operates as indian curry rice quite a long qué with limited tables), so end up at this eatery which is on the opposite side of the small road. Pick your choice of Yong tau foo at the front and inform your table no. It will be served to you. I ordered 2 pieces of chee cheong fun to go with the YTF. All decent. Nothing to shout. What impressed me is the cleanliness of the interior. Clean tables and chairs and all cutlery neatly arranged inside plastic containers on each table. The ordering is very systematic. You pay at the cashier counter after you finish eating, which you must walk past to leave the shop. E wallet for convenience. The shop has quite a long array of YTF to...
