I have not been to Rocku in Singapore because of the somewhat not so good reviews. But I thought I would give this KL outlet a try. Going in blind without reading any reviews!

We made reservations but there was quite a delay at the entrance due to walk-in customers. There should have been a different queue for walk-ins. Even when it was our turn, we were told to wait. In the end, when we entered the dining hall, we saw only 1/4 of the tables were occupied. I scratched my head.

It is a Charcoal BBQ, and the charcoal cooled down easily. But thanks to the staff who changed the charcoal for us upon request. I think they did it 3 times throughout our 120min stay.

Talking about dining time. We are allowed to stay for 130mins. That’s so much better than all other restaurants that offer only 80 to 90mins. Very stressful to dine in those restaurants, right?

The meat and seafood are fresh and they were delivered to our table just minutes after we ordered online. Ice Cream and Mochi are included.

There are also cooked food, desserts, soup and some vegetables at the buffet spread. I personally love the chili sauce (what’s new, if you’ve been reading my reviews. Haha).

Then, all of sudden, the live entertainment started. It was ok, except for some slightly out of tune parts. It was just too loud. There was no way we could have a normal conversation at the table without yelling at each other. LOL. Maybe they should have lowered the speaker volume. Audio boost is not required in such small and enclosed area.

Overall, the service is good, I enjoyed the food, apart from the deafening live entertainment (minus points!). Not sure if the Singapore outlet is the same or has the same service. It would be for me to find...

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at Rocku Yakiniku, Pavilion KL. The service was unacceptable and left much to be desired.

Firstly, despite repeatedly reminding the staff about a missing jug of soft drinks, it took over 30 minutes into our meal before it was served. This delay occurred even as other tables around us were being promptly attended to.

Secondly, there were significant issues with the food order. I ordered five plates of meat and several seafood items in one go, but none were served as requested. Despite informing the staff multiple times, the same delay in serving food persisted, while other tables continued to receive their orders promptly.

Adding to the frustration was the attitude of one of the managers. Their dismissive and snobby demeanor only worsened the situation, making the entire experience far more unpleasant.

What was most disappointing was the complete lack of explanation or effort to resolve the issue, even after I clearly expressed my dissatisfaction. Considering this was a limited-time dining experience, it felt extremely unfair. I frequent both the Gardens Mall and 1 Utama outlets and have never encountered such poor service. In fact, during a previous visit to the Gardens outlet, where there was a system error, the staff extended the dining time to compensate for the inconvenience.

If there was an issue with the ordering system at Pavilion KL, no such effort was made to address it. It raises concerns about whether the standard operating procedure is to serve food one by one instead of following the order list.

This experience fell far below the standards I’ve come to expect from...

Visited last week, Saturday. Known as a place that offer an experience of Japanese BBQ or Yakiniku like no other as they indulge our appetite with menus include appetisers, fresh salad, tantalising seafood, beef and pork items, and variety of side dishes and their known charcoal-fired grill.

Rocku offers a Japanese charcoal grilling experience, enjoying the foods tossing and grilling over the high heat charcoal-fired grill.

Their meat menu is a wide variety of fresh meat from Beef Platter (bacon, ribeye, striploin), Pork Platter (belly, collar, bacon), Seafood Platter (butter fish, mussels, prawns, squid, saba, scallop), chicken thigh, and lamb shoulder, all of it comes with their special marinated sauce. At the side on the buffet bar, they have items like onions, zucchini, ladies fingers, king oyster mushroom, bellpeppers, carrots, cherry tomato and eggplant which can be opt for choices for refreshing grills to acoompany the fatty from meats menu.

They also have the light menu items to compliment the experience like a light fried foods such as spring rolls, fish cakes, also fried rice, chawanmushi, sushi, salad bar. They also have the sauce bar and soup of the day.

For the drinks, it needs additional top up. They also have ice-cream but also in additional top up.

Overall, this time it was okay not that wow me anymore even though I came like after several years. In fact, I quite disappointed with the buffet bar and hot menu items, because it was so limited and not that appetising like my visit the last time.

Well, for an experience, yes I would go. Enjoying the time of truly...

From the moment I stepped into ROCKU, I was captivated by its contemporary ambiance, blending traditional yakiniku with an upbeat modern vibe. The restaurant was abuzz with the chatter of patrons and the sizzling sound of meats grilling. The service was impeccable. Our server Samid Miah was knowledgeable, guiding us through the extensive menu and making excellent recommendations. We opted for the assorted meat platter, which showcased a variety of premium cuts. Each slice of meat was tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection on the grill at our table. A standout dish for me was the marinated beef rib, which melted in my mouth with every bite. The variety of side dishes and dips complemented the grilled meats beautifully, adding layers of flavor and texture. What set ROCKU apart was not just the food, but also the entertainment. The live performances added an extra layer of enjoyment to the dining experience. In conclusion, ROCKU at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur offers a unique dining experience that is both delicious and entertaining. It’s a place where food and fun come together seamlessly, making it a must-visit for anyone in the area.
