Here’s a list of the many reasons why I would NOT recommend staying at the Banyan Signature Residence/Apartments
Reception - Is on Level 16 of the building and the only way to access Reception is to call them on WhatsApp and they will come down to ground floor to greet you! This is the only time that you are likely to have any personal contact. After that, there is no access to Level 16 - Reception and all communication has to be via WhatsApp and that's not the end of this problem. You will only be given one access key to your room "due to management rules" so if you are 2 or more guests the second and third guest will have to use WhatsApp to contact Reception to let them into the building and YOUR ROOM. Totally impractical. Communication - communicating via WhatsApp is fine by me but when the recipient has very poor or no understanding of the English language this leads to lots of confusion and frustration and getting what you need is very difficult if not impossible. I have evidence of this in my extensive WhatsApp conversations with Banyan Signatures. The apartment is totally lacking in facilities such as a pan or frypan for your stove, a container for the microwave or a cloth to dry your dishes (normal provisions in an apartment with kitchen). There are no instructions for the electric induction cooktop and washing machine. The cooktop is being induction will only work with special pans. When we asked for a frypan, yes you guessed it, it was the wrong pan and after spending an hour trying to figure out why the cooktop would not work (no instructions provided) we finally realised that the pan was at fault, not the cooktop. Do you intend to use the washing machine? Then be prepared to wait. The drying cycle is either 15 minutes (useless) or 3 hours (locked and no access to clothes during this period plus a long period after while it cools down). Of course if you try to open the dryer during a cycle then you will also be locked out for at least 30min before removing your clothes. There is no satellite TV so make sure that you have membership to Netflix and the like and that you know how to cast to the TV. The eco friendly lights above the kitchen benchtop are annoying. They switch on and off automatically when detecting movement (no manual override) so don't stop moving or you will be working in the dark! Here's a tip, there is a light in the overhead cooktop extractor, the on/off switch is hidden on top of the extractor so you will need a stool to locate unless you happen to be a tall person! Finally, if you need a late checkout (after 12 noon) YOU WILL BE CHARGED. I asked for a 1pm checkout and was denied due to back to back bookings.
I have given a 1 star rating because once you have endured all of the above inconveniences you will enjoy a nice comfortable apartment. Also, the ladies on Reception were very helpful on arrival but sadly they were never to be seen again during our stay.
To the Operator of this business (OPUS HOSPITALITY) - it's time to improve your game or your business could go down the drain. I've travelled a lot and this was a...
Read moreIt’s the banyan tree hotel in KL’s serviced residence wing. Star highlight of this property is its location. Very convenient whoever wants to stay near proximity to KLCC and pavilion area. It is convenient, sheltered bridge connected to the pavilion mall L2 outside its lobby. Out favorite mall and shopping destination whenever we’re in KL.||Check in at upper level office (residential room converted into an office with 2 desks and sofa). Upon arrival security guard escorted us to there from lobby. Check in handling guy was courteous and friendly. There was a young woman at a desk next to his which later after check -in, in lobby or elevators, never greets the guests at all! What kind of business field she’s in, not aware.|During the check-in it was smooth’sh processing but bit longer than needed. Also, a deposit was in MYR however when I asked to pay in different currently equivalent to the deposit amount, he asked almost double the sum which is ridiculous. In fact what I offered to pay in dollars was higher than requested deposit after the currency conversion. I declined and insisted then he agreed. |Another strange thing is, we had two rooms for 4 adults. However he handed only 2 room cards, 1 for each room. This is the only place hands out single keys per double occupancy rooms and declines to give each more. Needless to say, that room card is used for every step of this property including the elevators to your room, entry to lobby then from lobby to lift lobby etc. We were extremely inconvenienced with a single card per room. When asked for more cards, the guy agreed but later we found out that he had only provided 1 more card (still left my parent’s room with a single card). |These people are just miles away from streamlining this management business to run this facility as a hotel. |Rooms are specious with modern interior and quite well decorated. Newish interior but mattresses were already sinking in. Not sure if they’d change that anytime soon. |Housekeeping team is friendly and efficient but the management needs to look into pests controlling. Both rooms had cockroaches (ours had in bathroom, next to bathtub area whereas parents room had twice on the kitchen countertop and sink area. During our stay we never cooked, just used the fridges and kettle etc. |There’s nice infinity pool and good gym.|Can’t have breakfast at banyan tree hotel as it’s different management companies. But plenty of cafes and big food court in next door shopping...
Read moreWent on a couple's trip and decide to indulge a bit and stay near a very popular area in KL. This hotel/aparthotel is located just behind the Banyan tree Hotel and is in the same building as the Banyan Tree Residences. The setup is almost AirBNB-like but there is a staff waiting to bring you to the check-in, parking and check-out. This is mainly because the hotel is within the condominium itself. If you're driving, you will need to collect a parking tag from the staff waiting for your at the lobby (you will need to inform them your rough ETA) and then the parking for the hotel guests is located on level 9! I had to twist my way up a total of 18 ramps as there were level 3 and 3A and so forth with bumps along the way. It was quite an unpleasant journey up to the parking. So much so that we decided not to drive and to cancel out meal reservations outside of the Bukit Bintang area. The staff will then wait for you at the level parking and then bring you to the check-in area at level 16. This will require an access card and therefore you will only see the check-in counter once and it is within a condo unit itself. After check-in you will get your access card to your room. Check-out will be at level 1 one where you just hand the access card and parking tag to the staff standing on-site. Was really a unique setup. ||The room itself was fantastic and very spacious. We got the deluxe king suite and it was wonderful. The drawback will be that the shower pressure was really low but the water pressure at the bath-tub was at least 3 times stronger. Not sure what was the problem. The bed was really comfortable and the entire room was really clean and well-lit. ||The staff service was really good as well. They were polite and always ready to help. Communications was with WhatsApp and their reply was really prompt. ||Overall the stay was really good and wonderful. The drawback was really the parking. Would suggest that Opus maybe discuss with Banyan Tree hotel to co-share some paid parking for guests so that it will not be such a hassle to...
