saka-no-ue cafe (kl) — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

Visited the famous Japanese dessert spot Sakanoue Cafe at Lalaport, and even though their kakigori selection isn’t huge, it absolutely did not disappoint! 😍

I ordered the Pistachio Strawberry Kakigori, and honestly, it was a perfect dessert. At first, I was a little worried about the pistachio cream on top (since I’m usually not a fan of heavy creams and tend to find them too rich), but it turned out to be a wonderful surprise! 🌰❄️ The pistachio topping was super light and fluffy, not heavy at all, with a strong pistachio flavor that was rich yet not overly sweet, just perfect!

The shaved ice itself was incredibly fine, airy, and had a subtle milky taste, delicious even on its own. Hidden inside were marinated strawberries 🍓 with the perfect sweet-tart balance, plus some cookie crumbles that added a nice crunch and extra texture to the whole dessert!

Overall, Sakanoue Cafe nails it in both atmosphere and desserts. Without a doubt, a solid ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ spot, definitely a place I’ll be...

sorry but this was so utterly underwhelming. came here expecting to taste some of the best bingsus around the area but this was not it :( the ice texture tasted more like the ice you get with cendol instead of the usual fine and light bingsu ice (to put it bluntly personally it tasted pretty cheap and rough) was expecting a more nutty flavour from the cream but instead i got a very subtle pistachio-ish taste, also there was barely any strawberry/crumbles in the middle

not to mention one of the staffs who took my order wasn’t being nice at all and sounded really annoyed and literally glared at me when i asked her to reiterate what she asked

overall an utterly disappointing and not really a pleasant experience. sorry but there are just too many better...

Had the pistachio strawberry and the apple earl grey flavours. Overall the both of the ice feels alot more fine than usual and the sauces used feels more natural and less sweet. Despite them having creams on top, it still achieve a very refreshing taste and it keeps u wanting more. Each dessert also has more things underneath each layer giving u different experience as u go further.

Personally prefer the pistachio one for the overall balance of sweetness. Been to alot of dessert shops and I would say this is one to try for them dessert lovers. Would come back here again to...
