Swung by for the first time after lunch to takeaway some coffee on the way back to work. Cashier was nice, described taste profiles clearly and took my order. There was only one other customer waiting inside for takeaway (who left shortly after), and the bar counter was otherwise empty.
As the barista was taking some time (I don't mind waiting a bit for a good brew), I decided to sit at a counter seat to wait - one foot on the ground, and one arm on the countertop (which means I'm ready to go). When my coffee was finally ready, the barista handed it over to me, and I handed the buzzer to him. Bear in mind, by this point only one other couple had sat down (which means the bar counter was still half empty), and another couple was ordering at the cashier.
As I held the coffee cup, before I could even lift it off the countertop and stand up - the barista said to me "Just to remind you, this area is for dine-in customers. For takeaway, you can sit outside".
Wow. No "Thank you", no "Enjoy your coffee", no "Have a nice day". He might as well have just said "Here's your coffee, now get out". Seeing all the other negative reviews here, I can totally relate.
I understand and respect house rules - they are there for a reason, to protect the business and legitimate paying customers. But what reason did you have to rush me off in this scenario? Was I killing your business? Did I really need a 'friendly' reminder before I could even lift my cup and take a sip? Really, was that the most important thing to you at that moment?
This is a classic case of blindly enforcing 'rules' for the sake of it - without understanding why they exist nor how to apply them sensibly. If you are so uptight about your rules, then don't have seats - just operate a pop-up window so you don't have to stress anyone out. You're not the only coffeebar in town that has limited seating, but you sure are the only one I've encountered who's ever behaved this way.
Looking at Stellar Coffee's website, it says:
"A place that intended for comfort in our life full of hustle and bustle. The peaceful, pleasant, and cool atmosphere makes Stellar the best spot to unwind your mind, body, and soul and revitalize. We believe it will shine not only as a coffee shop where people can connect offline while enjoying a cup of coffee." [sic]
I can only scoff. Instead of paying a copywriter only to do his/her work no justice, maybe spend more time training your staff on proper customer experience. Or maybe keep the barista to his science behind the counter and away from customer interactions if that is not his forte or passion.
Because the coffee was actually excellent, a well-balanced blend. But not worth the standoffish treatment. Such a shame - with this coffee quality, your rating should be in the upper 4.5 range - but if this is how you continue to treat customers, it might just dip below 4.0 at some point.
So curb...
Read moreIn the hustle and bustle of the city, finding a place to quietly settle down is a rare blessing. Recently, I stumbled upon a hidden café tucked away in an alley. Although it is surrounded by busy streets, stepping inside feels like entering another world—calm and cozy.
This café doesn’t have overly extravagant décor; instead, it creates a warm and inviting atmosphere with its simple wooden tables and chairs, along with soft lighting. What surprised me the most was how amazing the coffee tasted! Every cup, carefully brewed by the barista, exudes a rich aroma. The first sip is smooth and mellow, with subtle hints of fruitiness and nutty undertones. Their hand-brewed coffee, in particular, has a distinct layering of flavors—each sip offering a different experience, making it impossible not to savor every drop.
Sitting in a quiet corner, gazing at the bustling streets outside while listening to the soft music playing in the background, and holding a freshly brewed latte in my hands—it’s a rare and precious moment of peace amidst the chaos. This café is not just a place that serves good coffee; it feels like a little sanctuary where one can momentarily escape the noise and reorganize their thoughts.
A space like this is perfect for reading in silence, having a quiet conversation with a friend, or simply sitting alone to daydream, reflect, or enjoy the beauty of coffee. I believe that once you find such a place, it becomes an irreplaceable part...
Read moreI have been reading some bad reviews but unfortunately I did not experience any of it for my 2 visits here
First visit around 1-2pm, came with my wife so we wanted to sit at the bar. My wife was still full just finished lunch so did not feel like having a coffee. I was about to order a cup of hot lb, the staff said sorry min 1 drink per person for sitting at the bar. Ok I totally understand so I ordered another cold brew for my wife. The coffee was good, all the staffs were nice sometimes I saw them having joke at the bar, such a nice working environment.
Second visit, came here the next day in the morning for caffeine intake before gym. Ordered a hot lb and piccolo for my wife. Sitting outside, our order delivered to the tables, offered free water which already served on the tables with some empty glasses. Again the coffee were nice.
Everytime we came and left always greeted with all the staffs so I did not see any rude manners here.
I totally understand the “house rules” it is for business and helping them to get the best and most efficient turn over for every seating capacity. Sometimes its the customers who cannot put themselves as the...
