Not recommended when you are here by yourself as they don’t give a monkey!! They pay attention to those guests order big prawns and big fishes :( I came here with family & friends a few times before, the food was ok. Today I was thinking to go to 亞世飯店 in Petaling Street but it’s still closed and I was craving for their black beans bitter gourd with prawns & wolfberry leaves & fish paste soup. So I went to this Tien2 Lai to order these dishes to give them a try. At the end, I ordered the above except I changed to Chinese spinach for the soup. The bitter gourd was good, it wasn’t bitter as they cleaned well but the prawns not as big and juicy as 亞世飯店, a little bit more black soya sauce to turn the colour darker will be best but acceptable. When the soup arrived, I asked for a soup spoon and trying to find the fish paste but I suppose the chef forgot about it. So I asked for the person that took my order earlier, he just came and mumbling a bit then he walks away and talked to another person who yelled at the chef and questioned why no fish paste in the soup and the chef just turned back and look at me with his black face as if I have made a mistake by telling them about this or I was a beggar begging for some fish paste. Since then, no one follow up again. I was thinking that they might cook some fish paste and send to me later, but of course not. I asked for the bill and questioned the person why they didn’t even bother to change the soup for me, he again mumbling that they are busy (about 50% full) and he apologised at this point but it’s too late as this spoilt my mood overall. I wrote this because they need to know to run a business, they should serve everyone equally or at least treat them fairly as I’m a consumer and I paid for my food. Unfortunately, Malaysian food providers majority have bad attitudes/shallow, they didn’t learn especially after the shutdown of MCO. Good rapport with customers and good manners are the rules of thumbs in F&B industry, no matter how good is your food as they will be replaced.
My verdict: Food quality: 3 Atmosphere/Cleanliness: 2 Service/friendliness: 2 Facilities: 2 9 out...

TTL is tucked away in the back of a shoplot. The front of the shoplot facing Jalan Pudu is a mamak stall called Qasim.
The 4 dishes we tried were all decent to good - the kangkung with belachan, steamed egg, fried siu yuk and fried sotong with salted egg. With its smooth and silky texture, the steamed egg is possibly the best in KL! Fried siu yuk was unusual but it was tasty and the frying process did not make the meat hard. Although a bit on the salty side, the kangkung had great umami. Fried sotong was crispy but could do with more salted egg flavour.
The bill was wallet-friendly. Each of us paid RM30 - a great price for a hearty meal in the heart of Kuala Lumpur.
TIP ON PARKING: if you are going to TTL for dinner, set your Waze or Google Map to "Ornamental Fish Market Pudu". Plenty of parking here. Walk round the back of the building and the restaurant is just 30...
