Chee Cheong Fun: A Classic Malaysian Chinese All Day Treat a shop tucked away in Chinatown - Yooi Kee Chee Cheong Fun. This steamed rice noodle roll is a Cantonese delicacy that has become a quintessential part of Malaysian-Chinese I ordered a plate of the "chee cheong fun special" which came dressed in a sweet and savory sauce, topped with sesame seeds, and a drizzle of sweet chili sauce. The texture is silky smooth, with a delicate chew. As I bit into them, I enjoyed the soft yet pleasantly chewy texture. The addition of the sweet chili sauce and toasted sesame added even more layers of flavor and texture. With each satisfying bite, I could taste the essence of classic Malaysian street food - simple yet truly crave worthy. For an authentic taste of Malaysia, chee cheong fun is a must-try. This KL staple showcases the very best of Malaysian Chinese cuisine - an integral part of the city's diverse and dynamic food culture.

This store is easy to locate and it's just along petaling street, there are stores selling the same things too. Owners are friendly. Our order was century egg porridge, minced meat porridge and a signature Chee cheong fun. The century egg porridge was savoury, flavourful and warming and it went well with the you tiao. But it could have been less salty and in my opinion the century egg was not intense enough. The porridge was not to watery neither was it too starchy overall it was quite good. The amount off minced meat that they give is quite disappointing as it's not that much. The Chee cheong fun was silky and smooth, it melts in your mouth, and the sauce just adds a flavourful punch to the bite. The sauce was the perfect balance of saltiness and sweetness, and eaten with the chilli tasted even better.

Long queues for this ccf but the queue moves fast. We managed to find a table and our order was taken. In the midst of the “chaos”.. of the long line, numerous orders, packing and unpacking food, people figuring out where to sit etc, the people who run this place have it all under control. It may seem like they’re shouting at each other and everyone is confused but actually they have an exact idea of whatever is going on in their stall. CCF was smooth , thin, and finely sliced. No thick clumpy gooey nonsense. Being gluten free, I ordered a plate with only sesame seeds (no soy sauce ) and it was surprisingly delicious! the Mr had the signature red sauce w chilli and at the rate he was eating it, I could tell it was a good plate of ccf.! 👍🏻

One of the old food stalls in the area. Managed by an old uncle and auntie. It's a very nostalgic place. To be able to sit in a small stall area in the middle of Petaling street and eat a very traditional Chinese snack food. They don't have too many tables, so at times, maybe can get a little crowded. Simple order of small or large Chee Cheong Fun, and the choice of sauces. The standard is mixed of chilly and sweet sauce and sesame oil. If one doesn't like the reddish color, just order with soya sauce and sesame oil, which will taste much lighter and can taste the delicious cheong fun better. Sitting here to eat, one can also order drinks and food from other stalls (as long as you order some cheong fun first). Food is better than average and it's just very basic snack food, no frills. Come during any time of the day, since this is a central area, there isn't any peak time. During Covid pandemic, customers need to log-in into the MySejahtera app. Accessibility: It's a road side stall, so, only the outside table is accessible for a wheelchair. There is not...
