The ambience is super great. My boyfriend and I came to celebrate our anniversary. It located nearby KL tower. The waiters is very friendly and warm welcome. They served us difference kind of bread it's nice but there's some I would say they could be much more improvement. Yet, we love the special bread with topping with sweet potato, yam and pumpkin puree.
As starter we ordered
-Ceviche Salad (7/10) It contains of Hokkaido Scallop and Tiger Prawn Ceviche, Avocado Mango Salad, Cilantro, Salmon Roe. The avocado definitely bring out the freshness of the Hokkaido scallop. My boyfriend love the texture but not really my cup of tea as I'm not quite enjoy the rawness. The mango definitely help me to cope on taking the raw taste of the dishes.
-Mediterranean Octopus Carpaccio (9/10) This dishes contain of thin Slices of Cooked Octopus, Served with Marinated Olives, Sun Dried Tomatoes, Avocado Puree, Lemon dressing. The avocado puree go very well with the octopus. The dishes plating is wonderful. Good for visual but the octopus is a bit too thin. Hope they could make it slightly thicker so there's much texture to chew on and feel it.
Sides -Le Puy Green Lentil(9/10) Nothing to pick on as it's perfect. Love it! -Garlic and Butter Sautéed Spinach(10/10) I would say this is my personal favorite! I really love the savoury taste of how the dishes prepared. It's not too overwhelming greasy but yet could taste the buttery flavor. Highly recommended.
Mains -Slow and Low(7/10) It's Oven Braised Lamb Shank Ossobuco, Served with Black Truffle Mashed Potatoes, Green Asparagus. The lamb taste super, the seasoning is good. Yet, it's quite different from the authentic. It's still great tho. Highly recommend for the taste but not on the authentic.
-Roasted Black Angus Rib Eye Steak Tagliata Style' (9/10) The dish contain of Potatoes au Gratin, Green Asparagus, Mashed Parsnips, Roasted Wild Mushrooms serve with Black Peppercorn Sauce. I ordered the medium rare. They cooked it perfectly. They server the steak with toasted bread underneath. Quite filling with the bread but of course still delicious! I enjoyed this dishes alot just it's very big portion for me. My boyfriend helped me finished the steak😅
Atmosphere is great and is romantic for couple to date here. Just I hope the spacing between the table will be larger so we could have the privacy for our own. There's another couple seating right next to us. Totally could hear all their conversation althrough they weren't very loud when they speak. Kinda disrupting for couple that come here for dating and enjoy their own time. Others than that still highly...
Read moreZENZERO got my interest (and appetite) on a recent Wednesday night.
Picture a classic, dimly lit haven – think wood paneling, velvety plush chairs, and mirrored walls reflecting the city's twinkle. Stepping in, a sleek bar greeted us, showcasing an impressive wine list and cocktail menu that whispered temptation.
Reservations are king here, so our impromptu dinner landed us on the charming patio. And let me tell you, with the iconic KL Tower shimmering in the distance, it was a romantic setting I wouldn't trade for the plush indoors.
My Negroni, a timeless Italian aperitif, kicked things off, but it didn't quite sing. Perhaps it was the anticipation for the culinary journey ahead, or maybe I'm just a Negroni snob (mea culpa!).
The warm welcome of the focaccia and grissini, accompanied by a smooth extra virgin olive oil, quickly soothed my palate. And then came the amuse-bouche – a playful three-layer symphony of capsicum jelly, pecorino panna cotta, and beetroot jelly crowned with vegetable caviar. The creamy pecorino stole the spotlight, leaving me eager for more.
My starter, a prawn cocktail, was a delight. Tender, succulent tiger prawns bathed in a delicate pink mayo that had me shamelessly mopping it up with every bread crumb.
For the main course, I dove into the pappardelle al ragù – a rich, comforting embrace of perfectly cooked pasta and slow-cooked, melt-in-your-mouth meat ragu. Each bite was a love letter to Italian tradition.
Ending on a high note, a Lavazza espresso sealed the deal – a fitting finale to a satisfying feast.
The price tag at ZENZERO won't break the bank, especially considering the upscale ambiance and international crowd. It's a place where classic Italian flavors marry contemporary finesse, all under the watchful gaze of the iconic KL Tower.
While the Negroni wasn't a showstopper, everything else – from the attentive service to the impeccable pasta – left me thoroughly impressed. ZENZERO, you've earned a spot on my "repeat...
Read moreMy recent dining experience at ZENZERO was truly a pleasure, starting with a complimentary appetizer that was absolutely on point. The combination of fresh greens and delicate salmon, drizzled with a sweet sauce, was both delicious and incredibly refreshing – a perfect way to awaken the palate and set the stage for the meal to come. Next came the bread basket, featuring a standout focaccia. The crust boasted a satisfying crispness, giving way to a light and airy interior. It was a simple yet well-executed offering. The mushroom soup was a comforting and satisfying course. Served piping hot and wonderfully warm, its creamy and thick texture enveloped the palate with rich, earthy flavors. For the main event, I opted for the smoked duck, and I was not disappointed. The presentation, complete with a subtle smokiness, hinted at the deliciousness to come. The duck itself was cooked beautifully, and the accompanying orange sauce provided a lovely sweet counterpoint that paired exceptionally well with the richness of the meat. However, the true star of the evening, for me, was undoubtedly the gelato. The salted caramel flavor was a revelation – a fascinating interplay of salty and sweet notes that blended seamlessly. This delightful scoop was further enhanced by the inclusion of fresh fruits and a delicate pavlova, creating a truly memorable dessert. Overall, my experience at ZENZERO was highly enjoyable. From the thoughtful and delicious complimentary appetizer to the standout gelato, each course offered something special. I would highly recommend ZENZERO to anyone looking for a well-crafted and...
