HAN Modern Korean Grill — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

We got the boneless short rib and beef tongue and we thought they were good.

The banchan on the other hand was average. The kimchi jiggae was not as flavorful as I expected and was mostly just sour. The scallion pancake was very doughy, not the best I’ve had.

The service however, was a letdown. For a restaurant of this scale, it was quite difficult to communicate with the staff. The bill was already served to my table and I put down a card for payment already. Assuming it was already taken, we left the table thinking the payment had been accepted. Turns out, that was not the case. We paid for parking and were already in our car ready to leave when I checked my phone to see multiple missed calls from the restaurant and messages saying the bill had not been settled yet. I had to run up to the restaurant to complete the payment; the manager just said the waiters were distracted because they were handling the cake, as it was a birthday dinner.

Long story short, staff could be more attentive with the service. This sort of thing should not be happening. When a bill is served to the table, it is the server’s responsibility to collect payment, not...

My wife and I came to Han Modern Korean Grill to celebrate her birthday (I made a reservation the week before). Why did I choose Han for the said occassion? Because my wife loves Korean food, and I was made to understand (from a bit of a research via Google) that Han is THE place to go for Halal Korean food…

…And Han didn’t disappoint! We had arguably one of the best dining experience ever at this place; the food was great, the ambience was excellent and we had the pleasure of being served by Mr. Imran, one of the waiter at Han.

He went above and beyond by organizing a mini ‘birthday celebration’ for my wife, with birthday song, cake and all (well, it’s a dessert rather than cake but really, it’s the thought that counts). And mind you, I didn’t inform them when I made the reservation that it was for my wife’s birthday. Mr. Imran more or less organized the above, impromptu, after he got to know about it.

Would we recommend Han to others? Hell yes. We’ll probably come again soon (once I have the money. LOL. It’s not the cheapest place in town, that’s for sure. But you’re paying for high quality service + food. For me,...

Truly the worst service I have ever had.

Waiter was unaware of our surroundings, getting our orders wrong despite his supervisor being beside him.(probably the owner. Very unfriendly Korean lady)

Kept on rushing us to finish our food despite it being only 840pm (they close at 10). The moment we were done with the meats (we hadn’t finished our sides yet and were still eating) the waiter started clearing our table and taking away the dishes.

Pls bear in mind that us and another table were the only people there.

Come 930 pm they were rushing us to foot the bill. They were adamant about us paying at the counter when clearly the other table (mostly Caucasians) got the card machine brought to them.

When we asked for the card machine, the waiter slammed the machine on our table and walked away.

Owner/manager saw everything happen and did not bother to interfere.
