Yee Fung is one of the must-visit spots in Kota Kinabalu, known for its signature Yee Fung Laksa. We ordered the Yee Fung Laksa (RM11.00), a bowl of rich and aromatic curry laksa loaded with fresh prawns, tender chicken shreds, and tofu puffs. The flavors were perfectly balanced, making it incredibly satisfying. We also tried the Yee Fung Ngau Chap (RM11.00), a dish that offers a choice between dry or soup. We opted for the dry version, which came with springy noodles coated in a savory sauce. The tender beef innards paired wonderfully with the chili sauce, adding a unique and delicious touch. To complete the meal, we had a refreshing Ice Umbra Juice (RM4.50), made from kedondong fruit, which was the perfect drink to balance the richness of the dishes. In total, we spent RM26.50, which we felt was very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. The dining experience was smooth and efficient. Even though there was a line outside the restaurant, the staff handled it with great organization. While queuing, they took our orders and arranged seating based on group size. Once seated, the food arrived in less than five minutes, which was impressively fast. The restaurant itself was clean and comfortable, with the team working tirelessly to ensure a pleasant dining experience for everyone. Overall, Yee Fung exceeded our expectations with its excellent food, efficient service, and welcoming atmosphere. If you’re in Kota Kinabalu, this place is definitely worth a visit, especially for its famous laksa and beef noodles. Highly recommended!

Arrived here around 7am and it is full house already, mainly visited by tourist during that hour. Just waited less than 3 mins to be seated and it is quite hot since there is no aircon so recommended to come here early morning rather than hot blazing afternoon xD Ordered their popular main course with is the yee fung laksa and ngau chap. Laksa taste is more towards santan flavor which is quite good with two medium size prawn, you can request to add extra soup since the noodles does soak it up over time. While for the ngau chap, soup taste herbally and the the mixture of beef cuts are fresh. Other pairing dishes like fish ball is quite bouncy and tasty and the vegetable is fresh and not overcooked which give a good bite as well. One thing i'm quite surprise is their condiments, the red sauce is more like tabasco which kinda pair well with the ngau chap and another thick brownish sauce is really not my thing...can't seems to fit any profile of the dishes...it might meant for laksa i guess....? Drinks are quite good as well, my cham ice and the ice lemon tea, both pass the average standard. Do yourself a favour and order cool drink to fight with the heat xD Another famous dish is the claypot chicken rice seems to be must order and seen at most of the dining table, can smell the charred rice across the eatery haha Recommended for sure, they do accept duitnow QR as payment method.

One of the best Laksa in Kota Kinabalu This place really does not need any introduction. It is well known to locals and tourist alike. Their years of experience in the business is clearly shown by the swift service and the streamlined workflow which will see you receiving you food just seconds after you’ve been seated. While other food items are just mediocre at best, the speciality of the shop is the laksa which hitherto at the time of writing this I have yet to encounter any shop which could best the taste and texture of the laksa. The soup is just the right level of spicy and creamy making it very smooth and flavourful in contrast to other shops which might have it too thick or spicy or watery. The level of spiciness can be adjusted by adding some of their signature sambal paste which in itself is also a masterpiece of a product. This is definitely a priority destination to visit especially for tourist looking to sample the local cuisine. It is located at the end of Gaya street and near impossible to miss thanks to the legions of customers lining up at the shop entrance. Price - $$ and increasing Service - Excellent ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Food - Good ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Location - Excellent ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Will I come back - Definitely Would I recommend - Definitely

I grew up eating here since I was a little kid! Been coming to this place every Sunday with my family for lunch after a nice walk and a little shopping at the gaya street market, and the flavors never changed. I never got tired of the food here. They are consistent with their taste and quality. My favorite is definitely the awesome Laksa! (I requested mine without shrimp) Pair it with their in-house made sambal to add the perfect amount of spiciness while adding bonus flavors. You will most likely see lots of crowds here specially during peak hours, but don't worry about the long wait times because they actually keep the flow going real fast and efficiently and so you actually won't feel as long of a wait. Seeing how this restaurant has operated since the early days, they have definitely made continuous improvement to run things efficiently, knowing how many customers they get daily and it definitely works. For new visitors to KK, it is 100% recommended to experience the food and atmosphere at this restaurant! My family that visited from Taiwan and the USA loved it so much when they ate here, and they still talk about how great the food was after so many years from their visit!

Wnet there this morning. The restaurant was busy but i was able to get a seat as a loner. Laksa was OK but I didn't have much choice to see the menu as the reception in front of door put pressure on me to order. Asked me what I want, mee or beehoon, as if I already know the shop. I am a traveller first time here. They just want to rush you in so you can finish quick and they could serve the next customer in the shortest time. I also ordered 2 half boiled eggs later but they turned out to be 80% cooked. I made a small complaint and the local waitress asked if I wanted to change, I was happy at first but when she said she would check with the lady boss first I said forget it as I know almost all Chinese Bose are petty and rarely compromise on this. So I didn't order drink as I strongly believe kopitiam should make all 3 basic foods good, coffee, eggs and bread. If one fails I believe they don't have the skills to make the others good. Price was reasonable. A bit over rated.

Open aired, indoor restaurant that serve no pork. Packed at peak hours and have to wait at least 15-30mins. However, turnover rate is fast. Staffs prepare and serve foods and drinks fast. Despite many customers, they are quite organised in placing them to tables. Had their famous Yee Fung laksa. Personally, I would prefer thicker taste of laksa soup. Otherwise, prawns are fresh. Added on their sambal that’s readily available on each table. Better. Teh tarik ping taste (without straw) more like Teh C ping (personal opinion). If they notice you seated too long after done your meal, they will come for payment without you calling. Understandably, due to long Q waiting for tables. Personally, I may come to try another meal on their menu. I would skip if there’s long Q. If you are nearby and have plenty of time to spare, can try this restaurant out.
