MY ORDER: Pappardelle Carbonara (RM35.00) Iced Latte (RM14.00)
FOOD COMMENTS: Had a genuinely amazing experience eating brunch here!
Food arrived within 15 minutes, and the quality was perfect. This was one of the rare places where you can get carbonara that uses egg yolk instead of cream, and it gives it such a distinct flavour. It's just the right amount of richness without being overbearing. There was a generous sprinkling of duck bacon as well, adding a crisp, fatty, and smoky flavour to the whole pasta dish. It's some of the best pasta I've had in a very long time, I highly recommend it.
On top of this, I also received a complimentary piece of garlic bread, with an added side of olive oil & balsamic vinegar. It was very light, and the flavours were very well balanced. The bread itself was really good quality, doesn't feel like it's kept for long.
SERVICE: Service was exceptional! No wrong orders, no rude employees. The staff was incredibly friendly, offering smiles and small talk to make a welcoming atmosphere. They were very proactive as well. When I was first being seated, they helped move a chair that was in the way slightly to make my seating easier. Whenever I had an empty plate, they would offer to take it away for me to clear the table. They're very attentive.
OTHER COMMENTS: The atmosphere of the restaurant is immaculate. Very clean and well taken care of, and the overall aesthetic with wood, marble, and plants gives it a classic, art nouveau vibe. There are no hard lights, mainly just ambient lighting so your eyes won't get blinded by any light sources. It's a very calm environment that lets you really enjoy the food.
I noticed there is an outdoor area, I'll have to check it out in the future.
SUMMARIZED FEEDBACK: Definitely coming again, I highly recommend the place! Great food, great ambience, great service! Prime example of what a restaurant should be. I'm looking forward to giving the rest of...
Read moreWe were excited to try out this new place for date night but were sadly disappointed. Starting with drinks we were bewildered when after ordering the house red we received a pink wine that the staff insisted was not a rose but in fact red wine. We ordered a salad and egg plant parmigiana which was delicious and the bread that came out as starter was great.
Sadly the steak we ordered came out grainy and overcooked at the edges. The texture was really weird and a total disappointment for rm180 a portion. It was difficult to finish with a bloody taste and less flavour than the mash potatoes and balsamic cabbage.
Still hungry we ordered a pasta and asked for a recommendation but the staff were unsure and instead recommended a rm80 off menu item that they said was mushroom sauce based with a choice of lasagna or ravioli. We chose a lasagna and was surprised when it came out with a tomato sauce and mushroom filling. Unfortunately it was as salty as our wallets and we were unable to finish it as it was unpalatable. Two bites of it and we were unable to continue.
We left the restaurant rm400 poorer and somehow still hungry. Save your money, head for Anne Elizabeth or Natalina Italian kitchen for better steaks or Italian food.
Would only ever come back here maybe for the cocktails. We had the pink lady which was perfectly balanced, the bandung and lemongrass complimenting the herbal notes of the gin. Their mixologist is their only saving grace.
Update! After five months we decided to come back for the cocktails and were not disappointed. Delightfully complex and well balanced they rival the cocktail bars you can find in the city. Their pizzas make a good accompaniment but we're coming back for...
Read moreHad an awesome time at this place! The atmosphere was just right – not too fancy, but still had that cozy vibe. The food looked like it came straight out of a magazine, all nicely arranged and pretty. Went there with the team for an early Christmas lunch, and the place had this cool festive feel to it that we really enjoyed.
It's a bit more on the upscale side, but not over the top. The waiters were really chill, always checking in to make sure we were good. Loved that they were attentive without being too in-your-face; made the whole lunch thing easy and relaxed.
Now, onto the food adventure! The little starter they brought, Amuse-bouche, was a delightful treat for both the eyes and the taste buds. For starters, I decided to switch it up and went for the Carpaccio di Bresaola. Surprisingly tasty and a solid choice for a newbie like me.
The main course had its highs and lows. The Sea Bass Fillet was decent but nothing extraordinary. Now, the pizzas were a different story. Tried the Margherita, Quattro Formaggi, and Capricciosa – all really hit the spot. My personal fave was the Margherita.
When it came to dessert, the Passion Fruit Panna Cotta stole the spotlight. Sweet and sour in all the right ways – absolutely loved it. Oh, and can't forget the free-flow Ambra juice; that stuff was a tasty bonus.
In a nutshell, had a good meal with a mix of hits and a minor miss, but walked away with a happy belly and a thumbs up for the...
