Dandy Modern Food has recently launched its second Selangor outlet in Sunway Pyramid! Dandy offers an extensive menu of contemporary Mediterranean cuisine, showcasing flavour bombs inspired by global cultures 🥙
Its cozy and flexible vibe yields this outlet a remarkable place for casual catch-up sessions or even a me-time. With ample seating, it's also great for any corporate gatherings and celebrations up to 110 pax! 🤗
Ordered: Smashed Falafel Platter 🧆 (RM23) Fluffy falafels and tangy salad matched together pretty nicely; it comes with small flatbreads too. Would be better with more dressing! 🌿
Dandy Mediterranean Beef Wrap 🌯 (RM23) Fulfilling wraps well-stuffed with double beef such as seared sliced beef and beef briskets, including fresh veggies. The dish enhancement by the garlic mayo sauce was a game changer! 👍
Dandy Chicken 🍗⭐️ (RM27) Grilled chicken on a bed of smoky long grain rice, red sauce, and house salad. Every bite contained so much flavour that we couldn't stop complimenting how good this dish was! 🤤 however the vegetable soup at the side was a tad bit underwhelming.
Panna Cotta 🍮⭐️ (RM16) Creamy jelly like dessert topped with strawberry and passion fruit sauce, but we prefer eating with the passion fruit sauce more! 😋
Kunafa Cheese 🧀 (RM18) We appreciated that the syrup was served separately, hence the kunafa sweetness can be adjusted! Personally, the kunafa itself had adequate sweetness even without the syrup so wouldn't recommend pouring too much.
Ended our meal with refreshing premium tea-based drinks: Blossom Ice Tea 🌼⭐️ (RM16) osmanthus & chrysanthemum tea | wolfberries | golden honey jelly | fresh mint leaves
Poolside Lychee Ice Tea 🍹⭐️ (RM15) brewed lychee fruit tea | sliced oranges | mint leaves | lychee chunks

Read moreI visited Dandy Mediterranean with my girlfriend to try their Mediterranean cuisine. We ordered the Dandy Mix Grill, which included beef and chicken kebab, shish tawook, and beef tikka, served with hummus and a garlic mayo yogurt sauce.
The mix grill overall was just okay—3.5/5. The beef tikka and shish tawook were seasoned decently but nothing special; the meat wasn’t particularly juicy or flavorful. However, the standout was the kebab—perfectly seasoned and full of flavor, making the dish more enjoyable. As for the sauces, they were underwhelming. The hummus lacked depth, and the garlic mayo yogurt sauce didn’t leave much of an impression.
Next, we tried the Alfredo Chicken Pasta, which was a major letdown—2/5. The sauce had no buttery or cheesy richness; instead, it tasted more like chicken vegetable stock. The texture even reminded me of kuey teow radna sauce rather than a creamy Alfredo. If you’re going to serve pasta, it should at least resemble its original flavors. My suggestion? Stick to Mediterranean dishes.
For dessert, we had the Kunafa Cheese. My girlfriend loved it, but personally, I’m not a fan. The combination of mozzarella cheese and kunafa just didn’t work for me. 3/5, but that’s probably down to personal preference.
Service (2/5): Since it was during Ramadan, the service felt chaotic. We waited almost 30 minutes for the mix grill after receiving the pasta first, which was frustrating.
Overall: The kebab was the highlight, but other dishes fell short. Service was slow, and the Alfredo pasta was disappointing. If you go, stick to the...
Read moreUmmm...well the food I ordered definitely had a photo for illustration purposes only 😳😅
But gotta clarify that I did not order their signature because somehow I saw their pasta dish photo and it stuck to my head so I had to order that one - Chicken Mushroom Linguine... It looked great on the menu... :)
I was excited for my food but when it came I was shook, because (1) I thought it was microwaved food and (2) the plating/presentation was like canteen/school food...in a plain ol white ceramic dish... I was dissapointed. It was pasta covered in grey-ish coloured thick sauce, with chicken and mushrooms, tiny bits of capsicum...
Nothing too wrong with the taste, a bit too salty. It's freshly cooked, pasta is al dente. But yeah, the presentation was shocking to me. As a Mediterranean restaurant, known for their colour and vibrant energy and exquisite spices, I do gently suggest that the restaurant reconsider their choice of tableware (colour and design) to match their menu (menu design is great, it's colourful, vibrant, delicious...), instead of plain monotoned tableware (I saw white dishes, black, blue, grey...)
Staff were very friendly and helpful! Environment was good. Do take note that they operate by an open kitchen concept so for the girlies who doesn't wanna smell like food in your hair, maybe sit further.
Please change your dinnerware if possible. Although yes, menu photos are for illustration purposes only but well... Could've been better.
