I don’t even feel this restaurant deserves one star. The service was absolutely terrible! This was my first visit to Village Roast Duck at Sunway Pyramid on 31/8, and it will definitely be my last! I had an extremely unpleasant experience at this restaurant and will not be returning.

At first, we ordered 1 wantan mee and some other dishes, but There's one guy with coat, came and “threw” 2 plates of wantan mee on our table. We were shocked because we only ordered one. He noticed our reaction and just stared at us. When we said we only ordered one and asked him to double-check, he simply took one plate back to the kitchen without a word or any explanation. His attitude really surprised us.

Later, I requested an extra spoon from a lady staff. Instead of replying politely, she frowned and held up her hand showing “five” to make me wait. A simple “Miss, can you give me a moment?” or “Sorry, I’ll get back to you” would have been enough. The way she responded felt rude and unnecessary.

I was upset and couldn’t help noticing both of them as they passed by my table. They were aware of it, which also shows they knew how they behaved. I’m not expecting staff to serve with a big smile all the time, especially on such a busy day. But at least don’t show attitude to a customer. If you’re really exhausted, take a short break in the kitchen, drink some water, or go for a toilet break — don’t take it out on customers who have spent time queuing and waiting for a table.

And Last, when I went to pay at the cashier, I asked what position the staff in coats held. I was told they are Captains. I won’t even bother if this kind of service came from a foreign worker or a hawker stall. But in this case, I was told these staff are at Captain level. That makes me really wonder — how are they being trained, and how can a restaurant allow this kind of attitude and service from people at a supervisory level? With this kind of manners and service!! And I've noticed that several others have also mentioned experiencing poor service from the EXACTLY same staff member. I think this restaurant really needs to take this VERY VERY...

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the dining experience my family and I had at your restaurant yesterday. We were a group of eight, and unfortunately, the service, food quality, and overall value for money were far from what we expected, especially given the high prices.

Firstly, we were seated at a small table, which felt cramped and uncomfortable. The table was overcrowded with dishes, leaving us with little space to enjoy our meal. To make matters worse, despite all the dishes being served, the white rice did not arrive with the other items. We had to remind the waitstaff three times, and it took over 15 minutes for the rice to be delivered.

The timing of the food delivery was also poorly coordinated. The waiter brought out the desserts while we were still eating, which only added to the congestion on our small table. This disrupted the flow of our meal and made the experience feel rushed and uncomfortable.

Moreover, the portions of the dishes were very small for the prices charged. We were expecting much larger servings, especially considering the high cost of the meal. It felt as though we were not receiving the value we had paid for, leaving us unsatisfied with the overall dining experience.

Given the pricing and the overall environment, which felt more like a busy hawker stall rather than a restaurant, we were thoroughly disappointed. The combination of cramped seating, disorganized service, and small portions made our dinner unenjoyable, and we did not feel that the value for money was anywhere near acceptable.

I hope you take this feedback seriously and take steps to improve both the service and the portion sizes to better align with the...

Forgot to write this review but I still have to write it now even after a month despite of my busy schedules. Food was still okay but worst customer service ever! Went there on end of April 2022 at around 8.40pm and would like to place order. Special attention how bad it was especially to the female staff who was in charge on the cashier part. When we order there were a lot of dishes which already finished, so we asked politely on what they still have and recommend. The female staff didn't even bother to reply and talk a single word. She literally just flips and points at the menu, such gesture is super impolite! It's not like we did not pay for service charge. We ask a question and then she just points at the menu with such unwilling facial expression, like seriously? Okay fine we just want to have our dinner peacefully. After ordering, there was a guy who acted like a samseng too, the gesture when serving is like throwing the dishes to us and walking like gangster. Too bad we did not manage to ask for the names as we were also rushing. We don't deserve such service, price of the food is also also considered premium. My family and I will definitely not visit again and we will spread the words around on how bad the service was to prevent anybody from facing such treatment. Well, fix it or not is your business. It doesn't matter to me because we have already...

We ordered the signature tofu, 3 roasted meat set (duck, char siew and siew yoke), crispy pork appetizer, house fried rice and crispy milk rolls because they insisted that we have to order while waiting for a seat :(. Plus while eating, those waiting for tables are seated just a short arms length away, very disconcerting. The signature meats lacks character and was rather bland. Had to slather generous amounts of sambal chili sauce to eat. The fried rice was ok only, no wok hei. The crispy pork appetizer and tofu with mushrooms was good. After we ate a while, we said to cancel the crispy milk rolls that have not arrived because we were full. The waitress said that once ordered, it cannot be cancelled. What?!! This is ridiculously irritating! Cannot cancel something which is pre-prepared that has not arrived. Forced to take-away. This alone spoilt the whole experience for us. Will not be coming back. It is crowded during peak hours. Best to avoid and go try Din Tai Fung, Dragon-I, Esquire Kitchen, Oriental Sun or Ippudo which are nearby. Generous seatings available and more convivial and quiet environment to enjoy your meal. The address also doesn't include the lot number, section of the mall or the floor on which it's located. Really wasting time to find the outlet. BEST TO AVOID.

Stopped by Village Roast Duck at Sunway Pyramid for lunch and left feeling satisfied. This spot serves up authentic Cantonese-style roast meats in a nicely decorated modern Chinese setting. Despite the lunch crowd, we were seated quickly and attended to efficiently. We ordered the signature roast duck, char siew, and roasted pork belly, along with a plate of vegetables with oyster sauce. The roast duck was juicy with crispy skin — exactly what you’d hope for. The char siew was sweet, tender, and caramelized just right. But the real surprise was the roasted pork belly — beautifully layered with a crisp, crackling top and a good fat-to-meat ratio that wasn’t overwhelming. Every bite was satisfying. Portion sizes were fair, and food was served hot and fast. The service was brisk but efficient, typical of a busy Cantonese eatery. Prices are slightly on the premium side but well-justified given the quality and location inside a major shopping mall. If you’re shopping at Sunway Pyramid and craving crispy roast pork or juicy duck, this is a solid place to indulge.
