Banana Leaf by KLOX Hulhumale — Restaurant in Malé

The place was crowded, and we had to wait for about five minutes. The waitress (5-star service) who attended to us was kind and happy to serve the customers.

The plain dosa was a good size and crispy. The Kerala beef was well-prepared—fortunately, we didn’t get any fatty or chewy pieces, as fresh beef is not readily available in the Maldives.

The puri was also good. The sides (white and red coconut chutney, sambar, and potato) were decent, though they didn’t have the same authentic vegetarian taste as those found in Indian vegetarian restaurants. In India, these sides (coconut chutney and sambar) are usually refilled, but here, no one offered, so we assumed they were a single portion (not refillable). The mango lassi was good and it came in a big size glass. (With ice would be cooler and tastier).

NOTE: Kitchen staff were using head cover and gloves. Even the staff were well-dressed and looked clean. The place looks more hygienic and brighter than the Malé banana leaf.

Banana leaf itself is a popular restaurant everyone knows. Special meal options to drinks, especially Indian meals. Anyone into Indian meals would love to dine here. Recently opened Hulhumale' branch is very well maintained and operated equivalent as Male' banana leaf. Mostly what we have is thali and it's next level delicious. Prices are worth but moderate expensive. Fast service highlighting they are usually busy as well. But it's well worth the wait to dine here. Beautifully touched interior. I would recommend to try...
