❌Food poising! ❌ Proceed with caution! Me and my boyfriend got very sick after eating here. Symptoms within 12 hours and it was the only meal we shared together so very obvious it was from this place. We had chips and salsa, bone marrow and fish, I highly suspect the bone marrow. Also it was floating in grease and oil, very unappetizing, same with the fish - floating in butter. I contacted the place to let them know that we had been sick, they didn't seem to bother much but told me that a manager would contact me - which never happened. Also some days after, we bumped in to a couple that we had seen at the restaurant on the same night, and they told us that they had also been sick after eating there.. Another thing that bothered me was that when we made the reservation they had told us that there would be live music as in someone performing. During the dinner we soon discovered that the "live music" where three musicians walking from table to table, playing about 40 seconds of a song and afterwards asked for tips. We had not expected this and gave them the only cash we had which was 100 pesos and the gentlemen where clearly not happy about it, thinking it was too little. They sighed loudly and said "come on man, that's only a few dollars.." making both me and my boyfriend feel very uncomfortable. This left us with the feeling that we had been misled and not been given the correct information about the live music when making the reservation. Also our waitor was quite short in his tone during the whole dinner. He asked several times if I wanted a whole bottle when I ordered a glass of wine and seemed very unhappy when I didn't, which also left me with the feeling of not spending enough, although we had ordered several beverages, appatizers and main course. Just not a good experience at all that also gave us food poising and therefor ruined half of our holiday. Be very careful...

We were very excited about visiting Los Tres Gallos for our first evening in Cabo but unfortunately I would not recommend it.

Both my husband and I ordered cocktails and found them to be very watered down.

For food, we ordered queso fundido, empanadas, and the Caesar salad. The best part of the meal is the spicier habanero salsa (that you have to ask for). The drunken salsa was flavorful but the jalapeno Salsa was not. We also all agreed that the tortillas were delicious.

The rest of the meal was not very exciting and felt more like a tourist place. This is totally fine, however after reading reviews I had originally thought it would be an authentic restaurant. The menu has authentic food, but the depth of the food lacks- especially for the price. If you are from the US- I would compare it to that standard of Mexican food (again, not a deal breaker for some people but not what I had in mind).

I had originally planned on actually ordering a couple of more dishes plus a few desserts but we decided to not risk it and finished our meal earlier.

On another note- part of the reason why we chose this restaurant was for the mariachi band. I am not sure if it was just tonight, but it was a quartet of a few guitars and bass. This was highly disappointing for us because we love a traditional band, although they were amazing! Great job guys, your music made us enjoy our evening a lot more and you are all so talented.

Finally, the service was great. I enjoyed the table service Cesar Salad and our waiting was nice and accommodating

So basically, we enjoyed the service and music.

My goal for this review is not to bash the restaurant but just to give people another opinion. I chose this restaurant based on the reviews and I did not...

This restaurant is really lovely with fantastic and authentic Mexican food!

It's set in a serene outdoor courtyard (somehow there were no mosquitos all evening) with wonderful lighting, acoustics, and color. The staff were all great; very helpful, professional, and attentive, although, in Mexican fashion, a little over-eager to please in this American's opinion. Our server was Saul, and he was great!

The mariachi band was good, and takes requests. Stumped, we took their suggestion of a Mexican love song and had a short and little dance with it. They were then kind enough to leave us alone after a modest tip of around 70 pesos, and their playing for other guests was entertaining for the rest of the night!

But, most importantly, the food was complex, delicious, and seemingly very authentic. The menu reads like a survey of Mexican cuisine. We started with Los Caballeros salad and pozole- both standouts, and the best pozole I've ever had. Entreés were a catch of the day and a moclajete. Both were fanastic although the molcajete was enormous with loads of different meats, far too much for one person!

Mexican red blend by the glass was perfectly adequate. And a variety of interesting salsas came on the side.

But the best part was dessert! The plantanos flameados (bananas flambe) were prepared tableside by Saul. It was an expertly executed production, and the results were fantastic: perfectly glazed banana swimming in boozy warm caramel slowly mixing with runoff from the ice-cream scoops. We had coffee, which was also very good.

All up, three courses with drinks for two people and a generous tip was 145 USD (converted by Chase).

Very reasonable for a standout meal, and a...
