We’ve lived in Cabo for years and have had some decent lunches at Los Deseos — but after last night, we’re officially done.
We were seated promptly and I ordered a bottled water without specifying a brand, expecting something standard — maybe generic or the Fiji listed on the menu. Instead, they brought an off-menu Agua de Piedra. It’s good water, but they charged 181 pesos (~$9 USD) for a 360ml bottle that costs about $1 in stores. For comparison, their 500ml Fiji is only 120 pesos. It was a deliberate upsell — shady and disappointing from a place we thought was better than that.
We ordered the ribeye, but they were out, so we settled for the NY strip and asked to swap in the ribeye sides — they agreed. Easy enough. But the steak came out very rare (we ordered medium rare), and the sides were completely wrong. We almost let it go, but asked for a refire — which turned out to be a huge mistake. They brought it back five minutes later on a skillet so hot it torched the bottom of the steak. It was completely blackened and overcooked to well-done. It tasted like burnt carbon — bitter, dry, and tough. They added the right sides this time, but those were burned to a crisp too.
My wife didn’t eat anything. The steak was inedible, the sides were dry and gross, and at that point, the whole experience had soured the evening. Five different servers came to the table, which probably explains why the order got so jumbled. One guy even spilled red wine all over her glass and the table — and just left it. No apology, no cleanup, just… gone.
We’ve had good lunches here before, but this dinner was a total mess. It felt like a setup from the water to the service — a night where the universe just decided to ruin our one night out that week. It’s a shame, because we live right down the street and used to come often. But after this?...

Shocked at how they con you with prices.
We had 2 kids with us that ordered from the kids menu. When the cheque came, they charged them the dessert price off the adult menu. We had to ask them to correct it and they did.
But the true shocker was the drinks. We asked for a drinks menu, which the waiter clearly stated as does not exist in their restaurant.
So we confidently ordered 2 waters, a margarita and a local beer. To our horror they charged us 181 Pesos for each water, 418 Pesos for the Margarita, and 120 pesos for a Modelo. Which was marked as a Heineken on the cheque.
This is nothing less that daylight robbery. Not being clear about their prices, and then charging maximum prices.
We later learned that there are indeed much cheaper options for all the drinks we ordered on their so called non existing drinks menu.
I love traveling, and would spend top dollar on good food in any country.
But don't scam me deliberately.
This is nothing less than being thieves. We did speak to a manager about this, but just because you apologize and gave a mere 200 pesos discount does not make this right in any way. It does not even cover the difference of the scam.
We did not tip, as the waiter was clearly in...

From the moment we stepped into Los Deseos Marina Restaurant, we were enveloped in a delightful fusion of American style and traditional Mexican flavors. The highlight was the unique tableside three cheese presentation, an experience that was as entertaining as it was delicious.
Our server, Karina, was the epitome of professionalism mixed with warmth. Her energy was infectious, her attention to detail impeccable, and her recommendations spot-on without being pushy. She truly elevated our dining experience.
The guacamole was fresh and flavorful, a perfect starter along with their exceptional salsa. But the star of the show? The lobster tacos. My friend described them as ‘mouth-watering’ and ‘orgasmic,’ and I have to agree. They were a blend of rich flavors and delicate textures, perfectly complemented by flawlessly made flour tortillas.
Los Deseos isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a gastronomic journey that tantalizes every sense. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, missing out on this gem would be a culinary tragedy. Can’t wait to return!
