I have been on several fishing charters with friends and family. Before leaving the states I reached out to the company to check availability with the charters, what boats are available, and if the boats would be going out on Christmas Day. I was told by Erin that they would be going out on the 25th. So, I booked two days the 25th and 27th. I paid the 50% deposit for both days. I arrived in Cabo around 3:30pm on the 24th and that's when I am informed that the boat for the 25th will not be going out. So, now I have the one booking left for the 27th and I found another boat to go out on the 26th. When I got back to the resort from fishing an 8 hour day on the 26th I still had not received confirmation on the 31' California boat that I booked for the next day. I had to call Cabo San Lucas Fishing Charters at 3:46 pm and I was on the phone for 46 minutes trying to obtain my confirmed booking for the next morning. I finally received the email from Leslie, while I was on the phone with another representative from their company. They are very disorganized and they really don't have competent enough people handling the customers. The morning of the 27th I was at boat dock A before 6am and their was no one to greet me at the gate. I sent an email to the company at 6:07am stating that Natalia was not present. About 10 minutes later Natalia greeted me and brought to a 28' boat named the Rosy the Fish Finder. The captain and crew did not know what I wanted to fish for even though that is one of the questions on the company website to inform what the customer wants to fish for. So, we get introduced and I tell them what I am wanting do deep sea and bottom fishing. I named the species of fish that I was interested in as well, so we are on the same page. So we get started trolling. We catch two small 16" to 18" Mahi-mahi fish and they want me to take a picture with them. What a joke. I told them we need to put them back in the water. It's like they were documenting that we caught a fish! We were out for hours trolling a general area and nothing was biting. We headed northeast up the coast and used live bait to catch Roosterfish, but no luck. We went back to trolling for a couple hours. We tried bottom fishing for about 15 minutes and had no luck. So, we started to head back around 11am and started trolling again. I was about to give up due to the frustrations that I encountered with the booking, whether or not we would have live bait, and that the trip was uneventful. The equipment was in poor condition, and they didn't have rods for bottom fishing already set up versus the trolling rods. Juan and Roberto finally had a male Mahi-mahi bite and we pulled him in closer to the boat, but Roberto wanted me to bring him in the boat. I am use to leaving the Mahi in the water and throwing out more bait and have poles ready to catch more Mahi. I realize this is Cabo, but it would have been better to fish in Florida. We ended up catching one decent Mahi and two smaller ones that were around 2' long. Of course, we are limited to two Mahi, so we threw the smaller one back. I did not have a very good experience with this company and I was not provided with the boat that I had selected for the charter. I had to argue with the supervisor (Maria) about getting live bait. Make sure you read the fine print because they add on additional expenses and it's to late to cancel the trip. There has to be better fishing charter companies that are in this marina that have better equipment and work with the customer for them to enjoy the fishing experience. I have written enough, but hopefully you get the point. I gave them 2 stars only due to catching three decent quality fish. I just want other customer's to be aware of this companies way of doing...
Read moreMy wife and I did two days booked through Eddie who set us up on the 35’ Game On crew the first day and his personal 26’ Sea Fever the next day. It was our first time in Cabo (heard the sport fishing was the best on earth) and Edward did his best to tailor our experience based on a few phone conversations I had with him weeks in advance. He was extremely responsive, not pushy at all, and helped easy my concerns of providing the deposits via PayPal a few months in advance. Huge props for not being bothered by a text here or there from me as the trip got closer and being more than helpful with making sure we knew exactly what we were getting into.
I told Captain Edward I wanted to catch Marlin and Tuna and he had everything lined out accordingly for us. We landed two Marlin the first day with the Game On crew who were a two-man wrecking crew with navigation and line/tackle placement. Captain Edward and his mate Yogi gave us top notch service navigating rougher seas than the day before on a smaller boat, but they sure tried to make my first tuna a trophy by going out based on his knowledge of water temp, depth, and other factors that play into fishing of this kind. At no avail, he took the long way in, stayed out an extra 1.5 hours with us (at no expectation of additional charges) and we landed two tuna (one cut in half by a shark half way to boat), a dorado, and a marlin to top off the trip! Despite the slow morning, we had great conversation, jammed to quality music, and got to know each other just as a good host would do to entertain. The coolest thing, I felt compelled to tip an extra $100 for the extra time and effort, Edward handed it straight to Yogi, his first mate. Someone who takes care of his clients and his workforce is the type of person I will continue to do business with and recommend.
I don’t leave many reviews, but when I do, it’s usually for folks like this. No nonsense, no pushy sales tactics, knowledgeable of both fishing and Cabo in general, we recommend Cabo San Lucas Fishing Charters. Don’t hesitate to at least call and talk before you...
Read moreIt was my first trip to Cabo and was told I have to go out on a fishing charter when I’m there. Was told that the fishing was going to be great because the deep water is very close to shore. I called several charter boats and was not that thrilled with what I felt was a good fit for me until I called Captain Edward with Cabo San Lucas fishing Charters. I immediately felt comfortable with him and he gave me several recommendations that would make the trip better for me. No pressure on trying to make me book with him immediately. His concern was that I would have an enjoyable experience. I did make it a point to charter an 8 hour trip with him and I’m glad I did. I have gone out on fresh and saltwater charters from Maine to Alaska, Mexico, Jamaica, Dominican Republic. Captain Edward and his deck hand Ernie were the best I have ever chartered. They were very easy to communicate with and understand and made me feel very comfortable around them and on the boat. Great high quality tackle and Ernie kept the boat spotless and tidy the whole trip. I hooked two Marlin and only got one in. The biggest Marlin I have ever caught. We had 3 other Marlin chase our baits but would not strike. Caught 5 Yellow fin Tuna which was a first for me also. Missed a Wahoo and a Mahi Mahi. Lots of action all day. I saw whales, huge sea turtle, hundreds of porpoises and big schools of tuna feeding on the surface. What an exciting day and experience out fishing in Cabo. I would highly recommend using these guys for your next fishing charter they will not disappoint you. When I go back to Cabo again I am going to book with Cabo San Lucas fishing Charters for several trips while I am there. Top notch guys on the...
