I have to give them 2 stars because the setting and live music are great and our free desert was very good, but please beware, this place comes off as a high end seafood restaurant, it's on the water, the prices are high, but yet the items we ordered were not even close to expectations and neither was the compensation offered. We each ordered bowls of lobster bisque and ordered crab cakes and lobster croquettes to share. We have ordered lobster bisque at countless restaurants including ones in Mexico and have never seen a golden colored one before. It wasn't necessarily the color that was the issue, but for me, it just didn't have much flavor and my husband tasted a very bitter flavor and didn't eat it at all. Then the crab cakes and lobster croquettes were deep fried, stuffing. The flavor was okay, but they looked like they were frozen, pre-made pieces and it was impossible to identify any crab or lobster. I would totally expect something like this from a place like Long John Silvers or Captain Das, but not from Baja Lobster Company in Cabo San Lucas. We ate very little of it - not even 1/3 of either of them. In total, we ate one bisque and less than 1/3 of each of the crab cakes and lobster croquettes and their resolve was to take 15% off the bill instead of the 10% we already had and one free desert, leaving us with an $80 bill to pay. I know this is Mexico and not the U S., but just not what I would have expected. I caution anyone thinking of going here. There are way too many other choices that are way better. Just...
Read moreBad service, unclear about using multiple Cabo Cards, not accommodating. We arrived and they said they could accommodate 10 people which we were very appreciative of since it is such a large party. After that it was awful. The waiter was quick and harsh. We asked the waiter about using the two Cabo Cards (1 Card can be used for 6 people) we had since we are party of 10 people. Because we ALL sat at one table, they would only do one 1 check which meant we could only use one Cabo Card. We asked if we could do two checks (even though we would have needed 4) in order to use the other card, and they said absolutely not. We asked if we could spilt the table and sit at 2 separate tables (even though we came together) and they said no because that would mean you had two checks (the restaurant was empty and there were many open tables available). After that conversation with the waiter, we ordered drinks and food at the same time. The drinks, which took 30 minutes to arrive, and only half of them came. We waited 45 minutes for the food, which came out one at a time, the appetizers came out with the food rather then before. I do not recommend for large parties, anyone who wants their food out quickly.
The food was decent but spendy. Octopus- too much butter, lost the flavor Red Snapper - good Steaks - they are not cooked how they are ordered, mainly overcooked Chowder - sand in clams Pasta - not nearly enough salt/...
Read moreHonestly, I was really excited to come here.
We received a voucher to eat at a select few restaurants that are advertised as being “the best”. We sat through this looooong sales pitch for two $50 vouchers. At the time to pay, we were told that we could only use one of the vouchers because the total could not be split. Seriously? You couldn’t split the bill and use both?
Some BS excuse was given that “we didn’t let them know”. I let the lady who sat us down know that we were using a promotional voucher from Marina Fiesta. The only thing it says on the physical voucher is that we had to present it to them. Which she did not ask me to do, but I did in fact let them know that I had them.
I’m Mexican and always receive excellent service when traveling, but Cabo San Lucas has been a nightmare in the sense that everyone is trying to make a buck and scam you out of your money. It’s really frustrating because we all work hard for the money we earn. This touristy restaurant wanted to save $50 USD. They got $66 USD out of me, but no tip. Oh well.
The grilled octopus was flavorless, but everything else was decent. I’ve gotten better seafood in my home state of Jalisco. As other reviews have mentioned, it’s overpriced for smaller portions....
