Our wedding anniversary trip to 1 Homes Cabo was supposed to be a dream getaway, but it turned into a deeply unsettling experience that left us with mixed emotions. To begin with, the hotel itself is breathtakingâimmaculately clean, ultra-chic, and undeniably luxurious. We spent over $8,000 for five nights and six days in a stunning suite with a private balcony Jacuzzi. The initial days of our trip were magical, filled with wonderful moments and impeccable service. It truly felt like paradise.
But that paradise was shattered halfway through our stay. I noticed something that I initially dismissed as paranoia: a hotel employee was peering into our suite from the adjacent room. At first, I thought I was imagining it, but I saw the same man multiple timesâthree to be exactâstaring into our private space. On the third occasion, we locked eyes. It was chilling. I was in complete disbelief that this was happening at such a high-end resort. Furious and deeply uncomfortable, I called the front desk immediately, and security was sent to our room.
What followed was a tense and surreal series of events. Security investigated and confirmed that the adjacent room, which was supposedly an ownerâs suite and vacant at the time, had been accessed by an employee on the exact dates and times I reported. They reviewed key card records and security footage, which left no doubt about the violation. Although the staff were apologetic and took the matter seriously, the damage had already been done.
This horrifying invasion of privacy completely derailed our anniversary celebration. The remaining two nights were filled with unease and discomfort, and the wonderful memories we had madeâlike playing volleyball with Kygo during his Palm Tree Music Festival at the resortâfelt overshadowed by this ordeal. What should have been one of the happiest trips of our lives was tainted by a shocking breach of trust and safety.
As much as I want to give this hotel a five-star rating for its beauty and staff, I simply cannot ignore what happened. Spending thousands of dollars on what we thought was a safe and private experience only to have it ruined by such an egregious violation is beyond disappointing. While the resort is stunning, I cannot recommend 1 Homes Cabo until significant measures are taken to ensure guest privacy and security are truly prioritized. This incident was...
Read moreWhat a perfect place to honeymoon, or bring the kids for an amazing family vacation! We were here for a week in a one-bedroom marina view, and the experience was top-notch. The property and rooms are absolutely stunning, and the sister property Hacienda shares facilities with 1 Homes, which allows visitors to use the two additional pools that are a few steps away, as well as visit the Hacienda Spa and the restaurant. The resort itself features a tequila bar, common room with large TV, cafÊ, pickleball courts, three swimming pools, with two of the pools and a food truck and bar right on the beach. You are a quick 2 minute walk from the marina if you want to get off the property - with the staff at 1 Homes always waiting to give you a ride in the event you don't want to walk - and authentic, high-quality shopping a quick 5 minute Uber ride away.
Above all else, though, the staff made this trip exactly what my husband and I needed. Before we got there, they asked us to fill out a grocery list so that we would arrive to a fully stocked kitchen. They also made reservations on our behalf - one at Flora Farms and one at Cocina del Mar - and during one of those dinners, we received a "Happy Honeymoon" dessert...Cindy had called ahead and told them about the special occasion. What an amazing surprise! They also sent us goodies throughout the week, gratuit, as an appreciation for our patronage.
The resort itself, when we were there, was so very quiet, a perfect place to decompress and relax. Housekeeping comes twice a day - in the morning to clean and in the evening for turndown.
We were met with smiles and friendliness, no matter the staff member we encountered. As someone who has been to a lot of resorts all over the world, this one ranks at the top of the list! Highly, highly recommend. Thanks for everything,...
Read moreNew property, grounds are beautiful and pool area and beach. Beach pool staff super friendly. They asked me to leave them a review on trip advisor and I gave them a good review. This review is for other experiences on property. Our plans had changed and we had to check in later and lost a few days. They wouldnât give us a refund or credit. Kept saying contact Amex. The hotel was only 12% occupied. They could have done something. The apartment was spacious and modern, but there were large stains on carpets in bedroom and bathroom which they wouldnât clean or change. The AC was blasting at night and was not working properly. I had to call to get it fixed. They have a small coffee shop grab and go on site, but there wasnât much to grab. Three day old corn muffin and some sandwich that was sitting there the whole three days we were there. I really wish, the manager would think about bringing fresh bakeries in the morning. They donât have a restaurent on site but a food truck on the beach. It would have been nice to tell you where yo get groceries or order food when you are there since itâs your first time. They didnât give me any refund or credits for the lost nights, because of their non refundable policy, the manager later sent me a two night gift certificate. Iâm not sure I would...
