Poor customer service and food is not interesting or honestly that good. It's basic but it's Polanco so you pay to sit there. This is my 4th visit but after today, certainly the last. The food has never been all that good but it's near my home so convenient when I have guest. I went with my toddlers and noone offered a child seat. When I asked, i was told they were in use. 20 min later i see one available and after 15 min ask and they bring one over. Fine. We order and I order a scramble egg and toast dish for the kids and ask if they can split the dish in two plates. Waiter agrees. We get our food and they bring two large plates and adult cutletry for the kids. Mind you, one child can't even reach the table since there is no additional child seat but they could not even bring a dessert fork or spoon to accommodate us. I end up holding one toddler during breakfast and feeding her.
The last straw was when the bill came and I saw they charged us for two full dishes for the kids when I asked they split one dish in two plates. We told the waiter and he shrugged and asked if we were paying with a card and if we would like to add service!
This is a legit throw away place. Do not be fooled by the crowd which is largely people that want to be seen...
Read moreWent on a Saturday midday for brunch with family. The wait was over an hour. Then when we finally got in, the waiter mentioned emphatically that there were no drinks other than Grey Goose drinks during the brunch as the brunch was sponsored by Grey Goose. So only drinks available were Grey Goose vodka drinks. We ordered the mimosa and the spritz and they were horrible. We asked for a change of drinks and they said they could only change the drinks for more Grey Goose drinks nothing else. We were told that they had tasted the drinks and nothing was wrong with them and that other non vodka drinks would not be possible as it was a Grey Goose only brunch. Needless to say we had no drinks simply returned them and ordered coffee instead. Food was decent but this being the opening experience with guests from out of town dampened the experience we wanted to give our Mexico...
Read moreA member of our party got a very resistant strain of E.coli after eating at Catamundi. When her scrambled eggs came out to the table, she sent them back to the kitchen, politely asking them to cook them a bit more because they looked very undercooked. The waitress brought them back to the table and said that they could not cook them any more because the chef said that was how they were meant to be. Unfortunately, my friend's instincts were right, and within hours of leaving the restaurant, she got violently ill and found out later that week that she had E.coli.
It's also worth mentioning that the food is just ok and very overpriced. With all of the excellent, world-renowned food that is more fairly priced in Mexico City, I would not recommend prioritizing eating here. Try Niddo, for example, for an outstanding brunch that is...
