The hostess asked us when we arrived if we have any food allergies, we answered her that we do (celiac). The meneger Mohamad arrived and told us not to worry there are many gluten free dishes and other courses can be modified to a gluten free version. We got our salad that was supposed to be modified for my partners allergy. After eating half of it my partner started to suspect that there are bread crumbs in it. we asked the staff what’s is actually in there - they looked at us confused and after some back and forth Mohamed came back with apology that indeed our food contain gluten. Thanks god Celiac is not an allergy that kills people immediately, we don’t want to think what would have happened to a person with different allergy facing this unspeakable low level of professionalism, in a so to speak Michelin recommended restaurant. Never happened to us before. This is a strong warning to anyone with allergy to avoid this place and stuff. P.S Mohamed did deeply apologized to us and canceled the bill, but as explains it’s not a case of hair in the soup, but a serious food allergy. The restaurant should be taken out Michelin list ASAP, if this list suppose to unsure level of kitchen and service...
Read moreWe were pleasantly surprised by our dinner here. We had been staying just next door and after walking by so many times in a row we decided to finally try it. The patio seating is really nice, being adjacent to the Plaza you get a lot of dogs walking by and a nice ambience. There were some musicians setup outside the restaurant’s front door both on the Friday and Saturday evening that we saw, one of which was as we dined so it was great accompaniment to the evening. The English menu and bilingual waiter helped make ordering easier. We tried the chicken wings, ravioli, and gochujang octopus. All were delicious. The octopus was cooked well and had a nice warm and smoky flavor. The ravioli dish was rich in the best way. The chicken wings were a surprising standout—honestly some of the best I’ve had in recent memory. They have a nice selection of drinks too, including some mocktail options. The one we had was tasty and refreshing and the house red was nice too. The meal was one of our more expensive but that meant it was around 1000pesos which was pretty modest for the quality coming...
Read morePigeon is a nice little restaurant located inside a thriving neighborhood in Mexico City. Perfectly located alongside Edificio Río de Janeiro in Roma Norte, evoques an art deco atmosphere that, to my taste, is lacking some highlight and is not as vibrant as I was expecting. The service is good and cordial, maybe a little on the not so knowledgeable of drinks and food recommendation, but still very pleasant. The menu is short, but full of choices for everyone, with a nice French touch. Got the rice balls and assortment of cheeses for starters, they were amazing and very tasty! Still I was expecting some more cheese and less figs and bread. The pork schnitzel tasted very good, big portion, but lacked the actual feel of the original dish. Too thin, more like a pork “milanesa”. It’s overall a good experience to try, but in the end I felt that’s a bit expensive for...
