We were initially wary about booking Casa Tenue since it’s newer and had fewer reviews, but we are so glad we did! Zero regrets. Jon and the team were excellent: warm, helpful, and genuinely welcoming.
The location is perfect—right in Roma Norte, walkable to countless restaurants and cafés, with a supermarket just around the corner. We felt safe strolling around even at night.
We stayed in the Leonora room and it was perfect for two. The daybed and window-side nook were lifesavers when we popped back midday to rest without fully changing. The big window brings in beautiful natural light, and the blackout curtains made for amazing sleep. The entire space is thoughtfully designed—lime-wash walls against solid wood and granite, high-quality furniture, and details that make it clear comfort and design were carefully curated. Housekeeping restocked bottled/filtered water and teas daily. The toiletries from Laguna Cyprien smelled so good we went to buy some to take home.
There’s a small common area for breakfast and hanging out. Every morning they bring in pastries from Panadería Rosetta (such a treat), plus fruit, yogurt, Nespresso, and teas. Throughout the day you can help yourself to sparkling waters, kombucha, light alcoholic drinks, and even fixings for cocktails.
Casa Tenue feels like a design-forward, boutique oasis with the warmth of a great host. Our stay definitely was the highlight of our time in Mexico City. We’d absolutely stay here again and recommend it...
Read moreWe were first unsure about booking Casa Tenue since it’s such a new hotel, but are SO glad that we did - it very quickly became our favorite boutique hotel in Mexico City.
The location is ideal - right in the heart of Roma Norte and within easy walking distance to beautiful parks, tons of great restaurants, bars, and local shops. It’s the kind of place where you can step out the door and immediately feel part of the neighborhood.
The rooms are gorgeously designed - clean, modern, and super comfortable, with thoughtful little touches throughout. We especially appreciated the Laguna Cyprien toiletries and Panadería Rosetta each morning (yes, those pastries). In the evenings, they offer a mini bar set up downstairs to enjoy simple cocktails before going out or a nightcap before bed.
Overall, Casa Tenue feels like a quiet, stylish retreat in the middle of one of the city’s most exciting areas. We’re really glad we found it, and we’ll...

Due to problems with an Embassy, I had to cancel this trip at the very last minute. This trip to Mexico City was both for a visit to an Embassy and Honeymoon since I got married the week prior.
I advised the Hotel that this could happen the night before the trip, and confirmed/explained the situation the day of the trip. The Hotel simply responded that due their "Terms and Conditions" there won't be no returns.
At that time, I would have understood if the hotel had charged the first night due to the timing of cancelation, yet they the decided to keep what I paid for the whole stay. Probably they believe this type of behavior makes their hotel more "exclusive", but what I see is shameless greed and taking advantage of other people's situation.
Wondering if they kept this money to provide good salaries to their staff of it just went straight to the...
