We love Botanica Garden Cafe!!!!

If you are visiting Tulum, this is the place you MUST be going for your breakfast and coffee needs. The food is healthy, fresh, beautifully plated, and offers many options. My fiance and I are from the US, and are a little picky about quality of restaurants, and this place is even better than food options here at home!

While we ventured out for dinner meals, we literally could not stop coming back to this spot for breakfast because they just offer exactly what you'd want out of a Tulum morning experience. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful and accommodating to the language barrier, the service was quick, the setting is beautiful with healthy plants, clean bathrooms, and on two of the days we were here there was really nice local live music. The coffee is excellent (I'm still missing their iced americano with coconut milk) and they have sooo many yummy fresh fruit and veggie juices to choose from as well.

Each visit we would order multiple beverages and dishes, and our total bill tended to be between $30 - $35 US dollars which is incredibly affordable for the quality.

Sometimes avocado toast can be gimmicky, but theirs is genuinely delicious and very photogenic ;) We also loved the peanut butter toast, the chia bowl, the coconut delight bowl, the omelette with chorizo, and the quiche. Everything was so yummy, nourishing yet light, and really the perfect way to start your day in a beach town. Not Pet Friendly! First of all, this is a great place to visit if you don‘t have a dog. The food is very good. We went 5 times in the space of six weeks. We are staying in Tulúm for 6 weeks. The waiter was always very friendly, hence us tipping very well. We have a 7 month old dachshund and since the cafe was basically outdoor with trees and no floors it seemingly was a good fit. They say they are dog friendly. However as any pet owner having would know you can’t always control what your dog eats and sometimes that means he will get an upset stomach. We always take our dog for a walk, so there are no accidents when we go into a restaurant. Our puppy came on today and had an upset stomach and left a tiny 1cmx1cm little spec of poo. We apologised profusely and cleaned everything up right away . It was very early and we were the only customers.Nevertheless we were told our dog is no longer welcome. They pointed out they had cameras installed. Which was kind of scary. To me it sounded like they were implying we had done something criminal. That was tough to hear, I understand they can say they don’t want dogs and I completely adhere to that. However to state you are pet friendly and pets are welcome and then ban our puppy ( that has been there 5 times with no incident) is just extremely poor customer service. My advice to the owner. Either BE pet friendly ( with everything it entails) or just put a sign up and say dogs stay outside. By they way there are plenty of places in Tulum that are truly pet friendly. This one is not...
