This was our first stop once we got out of our Airbnb and the first interaction with food and service in tulum. A party of 5, we came at 10:00pm. First thing that comes to mind is the slow service and very limited help from the servers when recommending and accommodating our requests. I ordered a plate of three flank steak tacos and a mojito. The steak was dry and unflavoured. The mojito was great tho. Our total bill for our group was close to 1200. Price wise it could have been better as the food was not up to standard also we felt that for the amount of food we got, the bill was slightly pricey. We have tried various local spots since then and can definitely say the steak cuts are chewy and unflavoured compared to the rest. There are unnecessary add ins that drive the cost up which can be avoidable. Ambience in the restaurant is nice. They took time with the layout and the aesthetic but I felt that they over prioritized that. Although we went at closing time we have passed by the restaurant at peak hours and we’re disappointed when we see that it’s pretty empty. Bottom line is if you don’t want to get lousy service and sub par food. I suggest walking a bit further down the street and trying...
Read moreTerrible Experience – Credit Card Information Stolen My visit to El Pescador Tulum during my birthday weekend was disappointing and deeply alarming. After staying at least 1 hour and a half, we paid our $300 bill and left. Later, while reviewing our vacation charges, we discovered two back-to-back fraudulent charges of $600 each on our card. Unfortunately, we didn’t notice this until we returned to the United States. When I contacted my bank, they confirmed the card was not swiped, and no PIN was used, proving the charges were fraudulent. I called the restaurant, but they were unhelpful, claiming they had no receipts and offering no support. The violation of our privacy was evident, as we strongly suspect the issue arose when we handed our card to the waiter, who had to take it to the back to process the payment since he didn’t have a handheld machine. Do NOT let them take your card out of sight! This experience left me feeling uneasy and violated, especially during what should have been a celebratory weekend. I strongly advise avoiding El Pescador Tulum to prevent this from happening to you. I certainly won’t...
