One of Cozumel’s best hidden gems. Unfortunately they were sold out of lobster when I got there, but that speaks to their popularity.
I had their steak burrito and it was quite good too: steak was tender as you would want it in a burrito, with a side of coleslaw for veggies and a healthy amount of triangle tortilla chips. Which brings me to my next point: the sauces, while a perfect compliment to the chips, are the hidden gem within this hidden gem! The hot sauce had nice flavour and good heat. The chipotle was smooth and just the right hint of sweet. I asked the owner about it, and it’s a secret recipe. Definitely worth to go to check out the sauces!
The Good great food, and arrived relatively fast great location on a side street. No loud traffic, or stinky diesel trucks/buses/taxis. Peaceful and perfect for chatting w friends and family. I sat outside but they have A/C indoor seating too. You still get a good view of the water from the side street the in-house prepared sauces are the hidden gems within the hidden gem! my Victoria beer was the coldest beer I’ve had in the island! everything was clean service was amazing. The host was friendly, knowledgeable. He speaks perfect English and can joke around in English too
The Bad they had sold out of lobster by the time I got there after sunset. Aim to get there earlier than I did not a huge menu, but that allows them to be great at what they do make cash only, no credit cards. But they accept Peso’s and USD a bit farther than the main square, but only by a couple minutes on foot...
Read moreGood food made to order by a very attentive staff. The lobster was fresh, and there was plenty of lobster in my 'double the lobster' wrap, which otherwise would have been a disappointment. The flavors are mellow, and the Caribbean lobster is a bit more 'shrimpy' in both flavor and texture than a coldwater lobster. For these reasons, one would wish for a bit more of a Mexican touch, with a bit of lime, some cilantro, and maybe a bit of a mellow chile - some fruitiness to complement the more briny lobster. The prices are pretty steep for Mexican standards, and are about the lower end of lobster rolls on Long Island or in Maine. The Margarita on the rocks made in the bar next door (same owner) was excellent and complemented the lobster flavor very well. And I really loved the sound track they had on, slow, less known bluesy and slow tunes with most expressive vocals that had 'island pace' written all over them. The interior is European, spartanic, but warm, and there are a few seats outside (beware of the mosquitos). All in all, this place seats maybe 10ish people, but I luckily stopped by on a slow...
Read moreMy stepmom wanted to have a lobster burrito so she searched out this cozy little jewel in downtown San Miguel de Cozumel. We arrived to a cute little space with indoor and outdoor seating. A small bar faces the street for easy people watching, drinks and tasty food! We all ordered different items and thoroughly enjoyed the fresh taste and accommodating hustle from the waiter relaying our drinks from a location down the street! (Sister restaurant) The food was fresh and prepared within working view, there's nothing like butter sauteing on an open flat grill. Yum! 🤩 We had lobster, shrimp, steak, and bacon, several margs that were quite tasty, the Jamaica Marg was a bit tangy for some and of course some Coronas! Great experience off the resort and contributing back to the local economy is always a fantastic thing to do! We would def go back! Burritos, bowls, hoagies and more, also exceptionally affordable for our group of 7! My lobster bowl was a dynamic flavor...
